SLI doesnt work for now...

Nice testing Denny. Matches the testing I have done at the exact same CPU speed :)

Overclocked to 705/1070 MHz:

I know it says 8800GTX, but I had to install the drivers manually and the 8800GT was not listed in the driver. 169.02 worked fine, when I tried it today, but performance was sligthly worse.

Nice Denny what is the shader clock? i guess you overclocked it linked.

Nice to see that a GPU overclock actually results in some nice performance gains.

Was this done in an open bench environment and what was the temps like? Would be interested in knowing that since that's how I run my setup and would gladly know if I'd pick a 8800GT if stock cooler needs to be replaced or not or if I pick one of the 8800GTs with custom coolers on them.

What about driver 167.26, this one seems to be the fastest yet and supports 8800GT. :D

Temperatures were in the 70s on my setup using an open bench setup. One of my collegues measured 91C under load, so I would say, the cards get hot.

The worst card I had, did not even run over 670 MHz GPU and 1000 MHz on the memory, so don't get your hopes up. There are a lot of very good results (over 700MHz GPU) here at XS, but I don't think that will be the average.

Sorry Denny for threadcrapping, I should have started my own thread :/

OK we've seen so many temperatures now so we can conclude the fact the stock cooler is very crappy and probably even old cooler like Zalman VF700-CU would bring a significant improvement already. I still have my 6800GT card with VF700-CU on it collecting dust, perhaps it will get useful again.

It is possible to test the Crysis-Demo?

That would be nice, because my HD2900XT has some problems with the game ;)

Anyone brave enough to try this bios voltage mod? I would but I don't have my card yet. Found this on the News section, someone mentioned it

Denny, what were your shaders clocked at when you hit 750 gpu core?

did you use rivatuner, or bios flash?

using bios vmod will not "actual" increase the voltage of the vGPU. you still need to hard vmod it.
