The days have been getting quite warm (20 - 35*C) and through winter, when i began overclocking this rig, it had been closer to 16*C ambient.
I had noticed recently, my cpu was unstable at its old stable speed (3.43 GHz). I tried upping the voltage a little but this made it fail orthos faster.
I was looking at core temp while it was running, and a few seconds after it hit 59*C, it failed.
I dopped the speed to 3.40 GHz, lowered the fan speed, and it was able to run at 67*C before it failed. On a fresh orthos run, I ran TAT at the same time, the temp increased to 72*C and it failed immediately.
Finally i dropped it to 3.33 GHz and ran TAT at 100% with orthos and got both the cores to 75*C - this ran for hours and so far, its stable.
