Hey ya'll,
Didn't know if this was a P5K Deluxe Question, or a q6600 Question, but what's the verdict on BIOS 0601 when used with a q6600? Mainly, how does it handle in OC'ing as opposed to Bios 0401?
I have seen one post claiming 0601 gets higher FSB's, but was not certain how much it gains you. What other thoughts on temps, straps, internal chipset timings, synthetic benches would any of you have to offer?
On a semi-side note:
I am a speed fiend (on air, water is scary) and that's the reason I ask the above....this is why....
I have two P5K Deluxes with an OC'd q6600 to 3.7Ghz (right now) and another with a e6700 OC'd to 3.6Ghz. It could probably sit at 3.7Ghz with some voltage tuning.
They are hooked up with a crossover cable on the spare Gig Ports and I plan to have a mini 6-core Network Rendering Farm going for my Vegas, After Effects and 3DS Max projects, etc....
That's a total 22Ghz of Core 2 Rendering goodness....... LOVELY. Hey, I'll even toss in my wife's 3Ghz e6600 into the mix when she is out and heat my house, maybe even cook some steaks on the Ultra-120 Extremes :)
