I was using 2 sticks (2x1gb) of 8888 dominators since I built this rig, no issues.. but recently my pc was completely unstable.

I removed both corsair sticks, grabbed an old samsung stick that I had and installed it to the first slot (mobo is P5W DH dlx).. PC is back to normal...no crashing since. The thing is, I didn't test the other 3 slots, nor did I test each stick from corsair separetly on the first slot.

I have some replacement sticks that already arrived, and was wondering if its safe to test them on this possibly damaged slot, or if I should test them on a different PC first, or what do you guys recommend...?

is there any chance that the untested slot might damage the new ram? hope this makes sense, I can't find the right words to phrase it

thanks guys
