View Full Version : Vista wont see other computers on the network

Just tried vista for the first time with my bros new computer, in the middle of setting everything, and it wont see my computer or the laptop we have as shared comps in the network. And he needs to be able to see through mine that has the USB storage drive with all his stuff on it lol

is it on a domain or work group
is there a dhcp server or is it manualy config
how are the pc joined together (network hub/router or direct to each other
open cmd
in cmd window type:
ipconfig /all
on both pc's are both on same ip range /subnet

router, workgroup *shrug* on the rest of the stuff but ill give it a shot

excellent thanks ipconfig /renew made my computer show right up ;) now he has all the files he saved on my usb storage
