Hey all
i will be purchasing a new heatsink soon, and i would like to know what you guys will look better in my Lian Li A09B. I have a nexus fan real silent white blade to go with ultra 120 extreme also, and the rear fan will be another nexus fan also, and also the front. ATM, i don't really know which one would look better, but i don't really like the use of clips used on the ultra, do u guys think u could use something so you cant see it holding the fan? Tuniq just looks so good, as you can't see the fan, and the cooler itself looks so sexy.
cheers guys

4-6C for me, using dual YL D12SL-12 on 7V

If you want to go for looks, the IFX-14 looks much better than Ultra 120 Extreme, but that is just me ;). Performance is about slighly better than Tuniq, but slightly worse than Ultra 120 Extreme

to be fair i cant comment on the gian's from single to dual fans. I used the cpu @ 3gig and one fan then i lapped the cpu / heatsink and used two fans with the cpu @ 3.6gig / 1.6v

TRUE for deffinate
its not overly large and it performs no less than awesome
I think the Ultra looks a little better but the Tuniq still looks pretty cool.

I just ordered a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme from Petra's Tech Shop a few minutes ago :)
But as far as for looks, I would say the Tuniq Tower 120, the black top of the heatsink looks killer.

lol yea bro, i like it also, looks nice and neat itself
do you guys no anyway i could mount a fan on the ultra 120 extreme without using clips? as i think it looks so ugly.
i found a pic over at hardforums posted in the lian li gallery and i saw this:

You can use Krazy Glue or Super Glue most likely.. That would be the easiest way.. It does look like some sort of plastic pin is sticking through the fan screw holes so maybe there's some plastic in it just sitting in between the heatsink fins..

120 extreme - the hillbilly rubber band technique (push/pull)
the fans are spinning full in the pic (folding - cpu 100%), just the canon powershot stopped them for a micro second to take the pic. ;)

i use the same technique but my rubber band is in the middle of my fan.

hey guys, thanks for your help, i looked through alot of threads with Tuniq, and i have placed an order for Tuniq Tower 120 :)
cheers guys
Lawl. So this thread was useless as most people voted for TRUE 120 and you get a Tuniq! Your choice though :)

I too think the TuniQ looks way too different- most peeps drop their jaws in awe- at the size of that thing. :D
And the flames/wavy top view is a great looker imho. :p:
for most dual core chips, the TuniQ will not be far behind the TRUE for a 24x7 OC.
But for Benching, esp on quadcores, the TRUE wins hands down. :)
120x38mm fans or any 120mm with open flange, push-pull - do whatever one likes.
Also much simpler to get it on/off than the TuniQ as the bolts are visible and accessible from the top. :yepp:

I assume you get the fan brackets for the second fan directly from thermalright?

For looks most definitely the Ultra 120.

Akasa has a self-contained liquid CPU cooler. It isn't the best performer, but it has a neat industrial look that would look better if you took the funky blue colored fan off of it. The neat thing is that it doesn't even have a pump, and still manages decent temps for what it is.

You are right- it's toolless on the TuniQ. :p:
Maybe it's just me but while working inside a case- i find it a bit difficult to reach below the TuniQ and tighten the thumbbolts.
With the TRUE, i can see all the holes/bolts with the case on it's side- and the screwdriver is clear of any obstacles. :am:

That's why they make removable mobo trays, you know?
BTW, if you get a Tower 120, take a CLOSE look at my pics (MM U2-UFO tray)!
This is all the further that you'll want to turn the screws - so a thread or two is showing...
I've seen boneheads screw these things down so tight that they twist the heads off!!!

LoL! I'm not kidding ya!
They are supposed to be thumbscrews, but ppl will grab them with Vise-Grips and twist the heads off, or tighten them down so much, they can't get them off again.
Then, they blame Tuniq... :D

Vice grips wtf? I know it's supposed to be on good, but this isn't a case where you need to be xtreme...
