I heard that these chips are being phased out, but is it possible that this batch may use D9GMH chips?

How can I tell if this Crucial Ballistix is using the D9GMH chips? If not this batch of RAM, which other good value DDR2 2GB RAMs are there? I could sure use some suggestions as the list of good DIMMs are a bit overwhelming.
I intend to pair the RAM with a Pentium E2160/E2180 and a regular basic Asus P5K. Is this a good setup? Of course, I intend to overclock the hell out of this computer.

Now show as Ballastix, but sure they are D9GMH from its clock and voltage reaction :)

LoL.:lol2:
Um, if you go to Crucial website, it says at bottom of page:
©2007 Micron Technology, Inc. All rights reserved
I highly doubt they will use anything other than Micron IC's, for any of thier products. There has never ever been any demand that would require such, even though it may have been alluded to be a "tight market" pre-vista.:shakes:

Are you sure about this? So you're saying the 8500 in the link below are guaranteed to be D9GMH?

With the Pentium E series, I'm not sure if I need RAM this good. the multiplier is high and FSB is low...

i bought a tracer kit for 50$ just cause was 50$ and my kingston value ram with d9gmh will clock higher
i put 2.4+v into it n cant keep up with the d9ghm
why even bother
the balistix 8500s are 90$ @ ncix now
i wished i didnt have so many sticks i woulda gotten 2 more lol
get the 8500s before you regret it the 6400 might be d9ghm but low bin
i bought munshkins instead cause of 2.35v warranty:D

U cant go wrong with Ballistix 8500C5 or tracer as overclocking RAM - bargain basement price at present . They may change the chips from D9 due to supply and demand but I havent seen any recent reports of them not still being great overclockers plus Crucial have great warranty support. Heres a RAM list if you wnat to see what chips should be in DDR2 memory. http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr2/

What E series CPU? why not raise the FSB and drop the multiplier which will increase the memory speed, BUS ,and bandwidth whist retaining the CPU speed at current level. That will make use of the 8500's. Heres a nice guide and overclocking speadsheet so you can enter your figures and see what settings you will get. http://www.thetechrepository.com/showthread.php?t=195

Bought another 2 1GB sticks of the 667MHz 3-3-3 Ballistix; they react in the exact same way as my other 3 sticks, which is the following:
~860 with 3-3-3-9
~1040 with 4-4-4-12
~1120 with 5-5-4-5
close to 1200 with 5-5-5-15
All the above with 2.2V max voltage (Gigabyte board can't provide any more voltage, even if I wanted to)
I love them 667 goodies, I'll stick with them for a while ;)

Crucial ballistix PC6400 @ 2.45/2.48V
Now would that be D9GHM :D

lol yes it is still micron.
all ballistix use micron IC.
some lower end crucial has not used micron when in periods of short supply. mostly micron though.
I have 3GB (3x1GB) sticks of PC2-6400 (DDR2-800) Crucial Ballastix
(Yes it was 4GB 2x2GB and don't ask what happened to the other stick)
The first kit I am sure is D9GMH as it will do 2.2V 4-4-4-8 around 490-500 MHz but the 2nd kit (or say stick) won't even do 4-4-4-12 420 MHz with 2.2V or 5-5-5-15 520 MHz with 2.2V. So I am not sure if it's D9GMH.
Anyway I am running all 3 dual channel 4-5-5-8 430 MHz @ 2V and they are happy as a clam and I love em
I am being nice to them and care about long term than how many seconds I get in super pi or points in 3dmark

GIGABYTE GA P35-DS3R

It's been a while since I posted in this thread, but I decided to wait until now to go ahead with a purchase. Has Crucial switched chips with their Ballistix or it's still D9GMH?
