edit: i promise i won't make a habit out of posting in the wrong section, but i'm desparate here... thanx for understanding...

Quick Fix:
Step 1: Attain 10 dollars
Step 2: Travel to Bestbuy
Step 6: Buy a floppy drive and stop aggrevating yourself.
:o)
Edit: Either that or get a bootable windows CD, my box doesnt have a floppy ;o)
The only time I have seem that Hollywood was when trying to read a bad floppy.
I personally would try and DL the latest drivers from the manufacturers website, and extract them to a new floppy.

I once had a problem similar to yours and it turned out to be a bad power supply. Basically, the power supply was strugling to supply power to 5 hard drives. This may sound strange but check your power supply voltages in bios.

Try reversing the floppy cable.

...and make sure the floppy cable is all the way plugged in. i had that problem when i built my comp, but it dissappeared when i used some pressure when i plugged in the cable.

well, i pushed on everything as hard as i could without breakin anything, bought a new drive, tried a new disk and now i got it to read the drivers... someone suggested to flip the cable... i think that guy's far worse off than i am  also, someone mentioned a power supply: i got a 550 truecontrol and all the pots maxed so i'm not sure if that's the problem, but u had me second guessing :p: i'm gonna install windows and see how things go. thanx again for the help guys, much appreciated! :toast:
