Hi,

I want to buy an UPS with at least 4 sockets and backup battery for this:

1 PC
1 Monitor
1 Cable Modem
1 Wireless Router

This is my PC:
E6600
8800GTS
Motherboard
2GB RAM
3 HDD's
1 DVDRW
1 Sound Card
2 Fans
1 Corsair 620W

I want something good, silent and compatible with my PSU (Corsair HX-620W).

I think 1000VA/600W will do, so i've selected this ones: MGE Ellipse ASR 1000VA and Mustek PowerMust 1000 USB. Will 1000VA be enough for my system (and future systems)?
I've read that MGE like APC has great quality and many people say that Mustek are cheap low quality UPS, but the price difference between them is huge, so I want to know if there is so much difference between them. Isn't a Mustek UPS capable of doing its job like an MGE?
What do you think about Unitek's UPS? (I think its a French company)

Some questions:
- What should I choose? UPS -> online / offline / line-interactive??
- Is there any advantage with RJ45 protection, since I have a cable modem? Beucause, many of the UPS's only have RJ11 protection. How it works? I connect the RJ45 to UPS then I can connect another from UPS to the wireless router?

Thank you all!

I just got one of these for myself and one for my family and would recommend it to anyone. Take a look around at some reviews.

IMO you can't do any better at that price. You may also want to check the UPS Thread (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=74747) for my thoughts on it and others.

I think that UPS is only for US.
I can only find that UPS with 120v, and I need 230v.

So where are you located? Would have helped to have known that first.

We have virtually the same system though, and while gaming if you pull the plug it switches to battery with about 15 minutes of run time.

Sorry, I'm from Portugal :D

I'm looking at MGE Nova AVR 1100VA:

It has a good price. I just don't know if it is noisy...

can highly recommend belkin or apc ups's

http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=153777

i use one of these to power my rig and monitor and a switch plus router, and it is fine for my needs i liked it cause i did not have to make any adapters up i could just plug em in with out any hassel.

You may want one a bit more powerful the best in the buisiness are APC without a doubt, but are more expensive

If you have the PC in the room you sleep i will advice you to be very careful if the UPS has a fan inside not to be too loud. Some times UPS with fan can be very annoying with the sound that they produce.

The UPS I posted above only kicks the fan on when the battery is used. During normal conditions the fan is off.
