s-video input to dvi output?

is it possible that i use the converter that came with my 8800gts to convert component signal into s-video and then send the signal through the card right onto my monitor? i wanted to play some old ps2 games but dont have a TV in my room ATM.

just realized the converter wasnt component, what could i use to get the video part of the component to my videocard, i have converters to get the sound to my speakers.
