I would like to have a clan but as I'm in Europe and you're in the USA I don't think it'll be very practical. Maybe if seperate squads for USA/Europe players could be made, I'd be in.

...but if its one thing UT 2004 multiplay taught me, the series sucks in terms of calculated strikes etc.

You'll have 3/4 out of members of each side with huge frag numbers and even then it'll be 50/50 chance of anyone winning cos no one defends already won control points :mad:

Omg people who play Unreal Tournament games are high on crack, speed, energy drinks, and adrenaline. That game is WAY to fast for anyone normal to get into.

I play UT2004 all the time and yes it's much more fast paced than for example Counter-Strike for a couple reasons. It's much easier to die with fewer shots at range in CS so everyone get's in the habit of being more carefull and calculated, also you don't respawn until the next round which makes you value your life more. In UT2004 you can just go nuts because you will respawn almost instantly and it's slightly harder to die. So you can just run around like a cracked out Gerbil.

Anyways, I would be very interested in UT2007 once I get a new rig together.

Sorry for the bump, given that I am still quite a new face around XS.
I'm an avid Unreal Tournament player since ut2003, I am also quite skilled at making levels for both games.

If this clan has any interest in going on into playing ut2007 then I might want to join :)

I am currently playing a heavy amount of UT2004 assault, Find me online as SafeFire[HOBO].

ps. Hobo is not a clan, it's a joke tag me and some european friends put on due to us having trace routed eachother via google maps, this trace showed us as living in an intersection, thus the hobo :p

The vital thing that quake and absolutely all other games are missing is dodging and dodge jumping implemented in a way UT has :D UT has it and I simply can't play other games now since I am too used to dodging :) Unfortunately UT2007 will not have dodge jumping but they will still have regular dodge moves.

ut is the only game with normal game speed. ;)
Just a question of getting used to it.

I'll be playing 2k7 (UT3 now) but I only play TDM and plan on joining my old team again.

Competitive 2k4 died off way to fast.

I heard "cement foot" feeling is back in new demo. Really liked dodge jumping in last version.

There is still the dodging move, but overall walking speed is lower, and bunny hopping is extremely screwed up. Hoverboard activation and deactivation is nearly instantaneous, so that helps compensate for the lower speed.
