My 3dmarks 2001SE score sucks

here's my system:

Intel Pentium 4 2.4C@3.2Ghz (266FSB)
Zalman 7000CU
Geil Golden Dragon PC3700 @ 426Mhz at 5:4 at this FSB
Asus P4P800
ATI 9800 Pro (non-overclocked)
IBM 180GXP 60GB
Hercules Fortissimo 7.1

My 3dmarks 2001SE score sucks: 15,731 :stick:
shouldn't i be getting more around 20k?

help me increase this crap score

First thing to do is to check smartgart in the ATI menu under display properties advanced menu, and see if AGP 8X and fast writes are enabled.

Was this a fresh install of windows and drivers?? thats where most issues occur.

more like 18k at the most.

Using the ATI control panel, set D3D and OGL to the far left...Performance settings. Are you using tight timing settings?
My best was almost 20k at 3.4 with no vid OC.

more like 18,300

with a R9800 not overclocked, I found I get no score increase after 2.8 ghz, cause at that point the videocard becomes slower then the CPU.
18,300 was the max it would do with no overclocking.

No,
I really did do it... :)
I think it was 19,8xx
I worked EVERYTHING to the max. I used Powerstrip to manually set to 380/340 and I believe I ran at 3.32 or even 3.40. I used dx8.1 and 6307's. It was with my P4C800 and I had the mem at cas2, 2,2,5 and TURBO. My O/S was optimized neatly.
Really.

interesting cause I use nearly the same stuff, the only difference is you manually adjusted the speed, where as I left it at the normal 377/337 thing that powere strip shows the R9800 pro as.

other then that, our runs were identical.
including a clean install of the OS.

I tested from 2.4 to 3.5 ghz, and found around 2.8 I saw no increase at all.

Kunaak,
I'm really not sure...
Here's a piece of a thread from 6/03

"Board works well. Tonight I'm playing around trying to break 20K 3dmark01 points WITHOUT OC the Videocard...hehehe.
Got a 19,521 so far...Benches ddr425 @ cas2, 5,2,2 Turbo. Not bad, eh?

Now I really don't remember any more details. It was my P4/2.66
on air before I killed the mobo with dry ice...(lol)

On my IC7 with a 2.8c, sliders to left, no v.card o-clock:
3.46 1:1 3-8-3-3 = 19,7xx
3.6 5:4 2.5-7-3-3 = 19,8xx

Run 3dmark 03, if you are not in the 5500-6000 range without o-clocking the 9800, then it should be the 9800, possibly the inf is installed incorrectly. If you are at that score in 03 then check the mobo/cpu/ram, are you using single channel or dual channel ?

yeah i get around 5,500 on 3dmark03

dualchannel memory, at 5:4, it's doing 423Mhz 2-3-2-7 (2.85V)
After i tightened the timings i get 16,390 now in 3dmark01, which is a 700 point increase from before.
the 9800 pro is at 8x AGP, but fastwrite doesn't come on, when i turn it on when i restart it goes to "off", forcing it in powerstrip just crashes the computer  (i had the same problem with a radeon 8500 once, smartgart is just buggy)
Turbo mode on, Memory acceleration mode on, PAT partially enabled (can't fully enable it except on 1:1), basically i maxed out the settings with this hardware and cooling but i still should be getting 2,000 more points
:(

For the score or the 9700 ?

Ragnarok

yeah relatively to the rest of the scores..

i get higher fps in drago low and high, and 15fps less in nature... clocked @ 435/335..

or does the extra mem clock have little effect in drago?

Not sure what affects what in this test. I just tune for overall scores when I'm running it.
