I'm biting the bullet and building my quad early, was gonna wait for q9450... but said screw it...
so i'd like to tap some brains here, spot any holes before I click buy.

any suggestions welcome...
the if's in my mind are:
1.
ram-thought about going 2x2gb, but the xtreem 2x1gb looks to be a better performer, plus doubt I need 4. but anyone with abit ip35pro thats had good ram results I'd luv to know... yeah and I saw the huge ip35pro +100 page thread... great resource.

2.
2900 pro-i'm just an occasional gamer, so I still want a decent video, but is it worth the extra $70 for gddr4..
Thanks in advance for looking...

Thanks for the confirms.. takes some of the immediate buyers remorse away...

I looked around at ram and considered quite a few, ballistix being one of them; but ended up with the xtreems because they were on the approved list at abit and had the lowest latency on the list:

could have ordered a better hd, but I like wd and was trying to skim a little on the price to keep it at around 1200, which I slid right up to. plus I already have 500gb (2x250) in my current box..

now that its said and done, I look forward to playing with the new toy in about a week... Thanks :)

I would recommend an upgrade from 250gb to 500gb western digital for only $30 more

PS: I've never seen a brand new floppy that cheap

the samsung 500j is faster than the wd500gb, and were are the fans for that case it needs 5 extra 120/140 and 1 extra 80

I knew I missed something... fans! I'll see what the 3 it comes with do, then pick up some more if I need to locally... the sflex I ordered is for the thermalright...

edit: I thought about it and went ahead and ordered some more sflex's

well honestly i would have gotten a 640 MB 8800 GTS for only about a $100 more but overall it looks pretty good and should serve you well

30$ upgrade very well spend ...

If you plan to overclock your system, maybe a higher powersupply...

Which brings up the question; At which resolution will you be playing?

got everythng installed and posted first try.. lucked out and the abit IP-35 they sent me already had bios 14, so no need to flash.. but man routing all those fans was a pita.. I ended up using all the places the case had 7, plus 2 on the thermalright push/pull.. 6 of them are blue leds so it's lit pretty well... anyway vista is installing now,

Thanks for yalls help, think I'll like it... :D

I'm using beta 16 and it's the best sofar IMHO.

I'll have to check out the beta 16...
I found a comfortable oc 3.4 at 1.4v, passed an hr occt, so I put it on the smp folding this morning and it's been going all day no errors. temps are nice with the thermalright, I may just be happy with this for a while, but I'm sure 3.6 is next, let it sit here for a couple days folding and tweak it a little further. but I'm pretty sure 1.4v is close, cause 1.375 failed occt 1 hr test.
