Wow thanks OP! This game is so frackin intense, I could probably play that same mission over and over till the game is released! It looks amazing, and runs surprisingly smooth maxed out.

What exactly am I looking at?

Anyway so far the demo shows they are living up to their promise of bringing the hottest warfare PC has to offer. BF2: Modern Combat, step aside.

Operation Flashpoint 2 will put everything to shame when it's released next year ;)

Anyone know if this version or the final will take advantage of multiple cores?

I have no idea about the retail release but I thought I'd take a look at how the demo works on my E6600.

Oddly enough, when playing, I get about 35% load on Core 0 and around 20% on Core 1. The demo anyway is not very CPU intensive.

I love it!!!!

i played the demo, running on 3- 19" screens running through my new matrox TripleHead2Go, even with my 8800 gts(690/2000) @ 3200x1024 (something like that) it runs amazingly smooth!!, i never thought this card would keep up.

although a new 640mb card is in the works ;-)

This is an awesome game and I love it so far. Although the multi player (Xbox 360 MP Beta) is somewhat better then the single player. (It'll be even better with a keyboard and mouse! :D)

Yeah if Call of Duty 2 was any indication, these guys are serious about sound. The surround effects are going to be amazing.

My neighbors will probably think WWIII has started in my apartment.

Developers had done an amazing job pushing the Q3Engine to that limit. A 'side effect' is that it runs pretty well even on my rig, not talking about modern middle-end and top-level hardware :) But, for me, the best CoD memories are linked to WWII... part 4 of a game is going to be very and very good, but (for me personally) it won't be as good as CoD\CoD:UO\CoD 2...

Are you sure they're still using the Q3 engine?
Looks more like the UT3 engine to me...

Best Regards :toast:

Are you sure they're still using the Q3 engine?
yes. When i saw that the file\directory structure is still the same as in earlier parts of CoD(and in any q3-based game), and even the game archives' extension is same as in CoD 2, i was amazed too. But i still didn't believe it unless i read - somewhere on one of the fan sites, i don't remember where exactly by now - that IW is still using a highly(VERY highly i'd said) modified Quake3 engine, that CoD 5 is going to be released on consoles only, just like the 3'rd part of a game, and UE3 has been licensed for CoD 6. However i can't guarantee that all this is anything more than gossips, wiki and all the Activision's official game' sites say that CoD 4 uses some kind of a proprioretary game engine... dunno who to trust.

Best Quake3 game ever!!!

they are using same engine as COD2, which was a modified q3 engine.

although game looks/performs great (all maxed out except sharpen smoke edges, 2x AA, @ 1920x1200)

it's still the same type as COD2 - not bad for a movie, great to play once through, but i dont consider scripting everything a good game.
