Whats up with this ? the ram settings in bios don't alow me to do 1:1 ?? Am I missing something here ? Whats the point in having 3.3v Vdimm if you don't have a 1:1 ratio ?

hehe, well my memory will do 250mhz + with 3.3v ! The MSI just doesn't even offer 1:1.
I'm running a 3.0c in it right now at 260fsb so I wouldn't be too far off at 250mhz.

Major,
Set to 400 should be 1:1 right?
Check to confirm with cpu-z

I have tried every setting for memory in bios versions 1.3, 1.32b and 1.6 and none of them set it to 1:1 they all set the memory to 210mhz when fsb is at 260 ?

Major,
I was reviewing some old MSI Neo threads and found a few examples of people who couldn't get 1:1 to work. Opp and Salamanzre and a few others were able to use 1:1 up to 255 I believe. The theory then was the memory was MAKING the mobo switch dividers...
Do you have any other memory to test with? What does CPU-Z show your memory as? PC3200? SPD?
Last idea, PM OPP.

OK finally.....whew !!!
OK it will ONLY run 1:1 when memory is set to cas 2.5 !!!!! it doesn't matter if its set to spd or not just cas 2.5 !
I did change my memory too, I'm going to put the 3200LL back in and see ;) (it OC's higher)

Nope the XMS3200LL just will not go into 1:1 regardless of settings. XMS3500C2 runs fine, but will only go into 1:1 if cas is set to 2.5. I hope this is fixed in a later bios ! I'm going to bed, I'll try v1.6 tomorrow and see about 1:1 with it.

I think it's picky about ram...but that XMS3500 is BH-5...good stuff.
I guess you need to find some sticks it likes and try tight timings at 1:1. With that voltage and the ram that's out there today...1:1 ddr520 should be doable.
Plus, curious to see the 5:4 in action. Slap in the 2.4C ;)

I got very angry with my MSI board and gave up and bought another P4C800....
I couldnt get the memory timings to stick...some bios worked right others didnt, they all gave me sub par performance(4300 sandra buffered instead of 5k) which got fixed in 1.6 bios
I did get 1:1 to work fine though up to 265fsb
