MS,
Just wanted to see if there's any update on the Neo? I gotta' give props to MSI for making a mobo with mad OC options, but the cr*ppy Bios'es scare me.

Hehe HOW DID YOU KNOW !!!! lol

I just got through putting it in my Vapochill about an hour ago ! lol

Its running fine, same exact OC as the IC7 with the 3.0c, 3930mhz with 260fsb @ 1.8v (I know I know, but it goes from 1.7 to 1.8 with nothing between ! lol) So no surprises so far, 3.9g must be tops for the chip with the vapo...

I've got to flash the latest bios and see if I can get 1:1 enabled, it only letting me do 5:4 currently and I'm hopeing I get better voltage adjustment increments too.

I'm going to run the MSI with the 2.4c in the vapo, and use the IC7 and 3.0c in the promie when it gets here. I'll probably put the 2.4c in it tomorrow and see what it can do.

I'll post some screenies later, right now I'm going to see what kind of 3dmark I get with the latest Cat's

Oh BTW I got the new nb hs from abit today from excaliber PC, its pretty nice definetly an improvement over the previous nb hs on the IC7, I had to lap it though pretty deep machine marks on it right were it makes contact with the nb.

Also when I took off the nb hs on the MSI to put some AS3 on it I noticed it would not make contact with the nb core at all with the foam shim left on the bottom so I took off the shim and all is ok now.

Both the MSI and the IC7 work in my vapo without a hitch too ! I was alittle worried about that, still yet to be seen if they work in the promie without mod.

little bit of late night Stephen King humor I guess.
You know, back in April I had an 875P Neo on order and canxcelled it for the IC7. But I still have a "thing" for that board.
Something inside me says that all the smack people have been talking about it is just bs.
Here are the things i'm most interested in
1) How the memory dividers work...remember OPP discovered that his wouldn't run a true 5:4...250 fsb wasn't 400ddr like on normal 875P. It was something like ddr412. Hmmmm.
2) How stable are the rails? Some peeps say the MSI is cr*p for controlling voltages.
3) Do you "indeed" have all those voltages available to use?
4) Let's see some unbuffered Sandra Mem b/w compared directly to IC7.
5) Bios'es...........wtf? Opp says the only one worth a sh*t was the 1.32(?) and I have heard bad things about the current ones.
So, Major you've got LOT's of questions to answer.

1)Yea the memory dividers are weird, I cant select 1:1 and your right they don't really have a 5:4 or a 3:2 instead it allows you to select 266, 333, 400, 500, 533 but above 200mhz fsb they all default to ddr 400 ? I'm about to flash to 1.6 and see what happens. I'm using the bios that came on the mb right now 1.3 ?

2)The rails in bios are all over the place ! hehe temps too ! but I have a feeling that they are stable as any other mb and the fluctuations are just instability in the winbond reporting.

3) OMG the voltages are outragious ! 3.3 Vdimm 2.5 or something Vcore ! lol Vagp to 2v ?

4)haven't got that far, spent the last hour just seeing what OC I could get stable with the 3.0c, like I said it was exactly the same fsb and everything that I got on the IC7. I think that says something for the MSI. Its definetly the chips limit with this cooling. If I have time I might go ahead while I have the vapo half way apart and put the 2.4c in since thats what I intend on running in it anyway.

5) I'll let you know in about 15mins on the bios, about to flash to 1.6 (the latest)

I sure wish I still had a P4C800 to play with, I might go ahead and get one next week. I never had a chance to even try it in the vapo so I really don't know what its capable of compared to the IC7 and Neo.

I'll report some bios info and some screenies in a few minutes.

You might wanna' try this one last...lol
I've heard bad things about 1.6
"Opp approved"

NEO2 has the same problems, I complained to MSI a few days ago about the WTF bios revs.

I also tried bios 1.33, it allows ES processors to work at 200FSB NB strap. I still couldnt select multiple over 15 in order to max Mhz and keep 1:1 ratio with agressive timing.

I could not break DDR500 no matter how I tried to twist it.

Ok disapointed !!!!! v1.6 stinks ! they added a "fast, turbo, ultra turbo" option but still no 1:1 and now memory defaults to spd at anything above 200mhz ! lol

going to try Ops suggestion now ! :D

266=3/2

333=5/4

400=1/1

500=4/5

533=5/6?

break down of the ratios.
my Asus is nearly the same.

Right Kunaak !! BUT setting it to 400 still give me a ddr of 210mhz when I have fsb at 260mhz !!!

Any news Major?

Ok put the 2.4c in today and I'm a little disapointed with the MSI, on the IC7 I was able to do 3.6g.

The MSI's bios just isn't quite right yet, the board is stable and OC's pretty well but just not like the IC7 or the P4C800 :rolleyes:

here is the best I can do with the 2.4c

Also the MSI has a problem with the XMS3200LL, it will not allow 1:1 to be selected in bios when using this ram. I tried my XMS3500C2 and it worked fine in 1:1 as long as I set the memory to Cas 2.5.

I'm going to get another P4C800 and maybe a 2.8c next payday and I'm going to use the MSI in my son's Koolance with the 2.4c.

Good thing I didnt bother to get one. I will stay with 845PE unitl prescott and the new socket.

Yeah MSI has so much potential but their BIOS are really messed from what I've heard. A shame IMO.
