Evening all :)

Just started my first build today(i have most of it done) but their are a couple of things i could do with some help with..

I have a Silverstone TJ07 case and a XFX 680i motherboard.

There a four wires for the front panel and each one is labeled..

VCC
USB
USB
GND
Shield

To be honest i am not really sure where on the motherboard i should be connecting these.

The other problem is with the case fans..the two on the back connect to the motherboard fan headers but the top two and the hard drive fans have much bigger 4 pin connectors.I have looked on the motherboard and cant see a place where i can connect them.

Hope someone can help me.

Thanks

Those wires labeled like that are for USB. They connect to the USB headers on your motherboard. Your motherboard would have a group (or more than one group) of 9 pins, aranged in a row of 5 and a row of 4. Look in your manual if your unsure about where your USB connectors are on your MB. Also in your MB manual it should list what each pin is, so then you will know what wire to plug in to what. Sorry, but I cant remember the order off the top of my head. But it would be VERY bad to plug them in backwards. I did that once and fried my MP3 player

Thanks for that :)

I have found the usb 2.0 header pins on the motherboard, two sets of 5 and four.

Trouble is each connector needs 5 pins, also the motherboard manuel dosent mention the shield pin just the other four.So on two of the usb wires i wont be able to connect the sheild pin.

I am getting more confused minute by minute.!

Those bigger 4-pin connectors probably connect to your power supply.

shield is the same as ground, it goes on the unpinned or in the blank slot i think

In your motherboard's manual there must be a page where it shows exactly what pins correspond to
VCC
USB
USB
GND
Shield

You only need to connect 4 pins two times, the "Shield" isn't used.
The correct order is
GND USB+ USB- VCC
or inverse depending on your motherboard

You just have to know that GND is next to Shield and build in that order.
