From the Inquirer:
ATi Radeon 9700 aka R300 with eight pipelines will deliver very nice performance figures and it should be clocked at 315MHz which is obviously the fastest speed that ATI can guarantee to its partners. ATi will also introduce cards clocked at lower speeds and use an Nvidia-style number nomenclature and to add some kind of number instead of LE. Radeon 9700 should deliver a magnificent 15,000 3DMarks and will be able to beat Nvidia’s fastest offering for this summer by a few thousand in this very popular test.
And Nividia not to be left behind:
NV30
AGP 8X and 900MHz DDR memory
Multi chip capable and the number of chips is an odd number
Zero (0) performance cost using 4X FSAA
16 textures/pixel per pass
4-1 colour compression technique
Double the performance of the Xbox/GF4 Ti4600
Use of IEEE 1394 aka Firewire will be on NV30 video cards
NV31 comes out one month after the NV30 and will not suffer the fate of the MX by branding it GeForce 4. NV31 line will feature everything the NV30 has but just be lower clocked cards.
