Everybody seems to love here, is that the motherboard to have?

Yeah, I would like to know the answer to this as well. Seems to me it is from reading all the threads I can find on it.
I'm interested especially for quads and using phase. I love the big open socket area and have to replace my POS P5K Dlx RAM killer.

I have been hitting my head against the wall since switching to Intel from AMD and finally now months later I have Finally gotten the complete stable Overclocking Package since this mobo! Although the Abit IP35 Pro is a awesome board no doubt about that ...this one is way better!

I have just replaced my Gigabyte P35-DQ6 with the DFI version and I am really happy that I did. The BIOS is SO much better, with correct SPD detection for my OCZ ram :)
I no longer have to suffer from endless reboots or fight to get the system to start up.
Very stable system and easy to OC, especially if you have DFI's recommended RAM modules ;)

you know I have been waiting for someone to report this...we worked damn hard to get the spd working well and very few boards actually use it.
DFI do though :) and im glad you reported so for us

No problem Tony, it's the little things that can make a bigger difference sometimes :) It does makes things so much easier though
May I ask you a question please? My OCZ Titanium Alpha VX2 modules are running at 1042 and the DFI detects the SPD as 4,4,4,10. The last setting for tras at 10, is that right? I would have thought 12 or 15 would have been correct?
Not that I have any memory errors though ;)
Cheers! :D

Not thas I can see, may not be a problem though if you know the timings.
have a look at the list here: http://www.dfi.com.tw/Product/xx_product_memory_us.jsp?PAGE_TYPE=US&INDEX_TYPE=MB&CATEGORY_TYPE=LP&SITE=US&PRODUCT_ID=5497

Is this the stuff? "G.SKILL 1024G SKILL F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ"
Because it's on the list :D
Also if it is not on the list it should still function, but I doubt DFI would have done any extensive testing.....

I think Tras = 10 is quite normal for 4-4-4 settings.
is there any DFI rep around this forum ?

DFI LP UT P35 T2R is the ducks knuts...(according to me who has never used one) :ROTF:
dfi seems to retain their reputation for quality boards.

Clock for clock how is this board? I recall seeing some surprisingly low Spi times for relatively high clocks.

a nice t/r ultra extreme shot
Dear everyone:
Some CPUs have FSB wall, not only this mobo problem. I hear some people cannot achieve high fsb and complained about this mobo. Why not compare with ASUS or Gigabyte has CPU FSB wall problems?
I ever hand pick 100 pcs+ E6850 ES and retail. They are only 5% for FSB 550+.
30% is not achieved to FSB 500+. Did you think this is bad mobo because NO HIGH FSB for your CPU?
I want to say you need to make sure your cpu could achieve high fsb on other mobo, not only on DFI LP P35-T2R.
Oskar and I test many retail DFI LP P35s, which are over 5 pcs. Every mobo can do FSB 600 on air 32M because I have godly hand pick FSB 600 CPU.
We just make sure retail can do FSB 600, not only sample, but we are wrong. We still hear too many people complain about fsb wall.
Please make sure your cpus can work high fsb on other brand's mobo and DFI cannot work it. I will tell Oskar to slove your problem.
Good Luck

Tune TRAS the following way:
Start with the max TRAS the board allows, boot to memtest and note the bandwidth. Now reboot and set TRAS 1 value lower..IE if max was 18 set 17 and note the bandwidth.
Do this thru all TRAS values so you have bandwidth per TRAS value.
Now...you need to set the highest value that gave you the most bandwidth. IE if 4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11 all give the same bandwidth then 12 the bandwidth drops set 11.
The reason for this is you need to keep the pages open for a long at time as you can so they are read correctly...and remember you are setting the minimum time the pages will stay open.
Now this is not good for super pi for some reason but for real world tests like games, CS2/3, encoding etc this usually is the fastest way to set up a boards ram.
There is more than just TRAS but i will keep that for an article maybe soon
