Doom3 was also incredibly buggy, and not optimised at all.

But, it might help.

If someone had a gig of ram they could try it.

When you use excess memory or Ram and make it a virtual hardrive. So you can store programs or files in the "ram drive" which will basically have no load times since there in memory.

hm... interesting idea. too bad i have only 512M.

And even more interesting idea to place PCMark2002 on ram drive to get psycho HDD Score.

Anybody have to try this:) C'mon, i wanna know the results:)

i think pcmark would look for the regular hard drive because window lists the ramdrive as a ramdrive but haveing anything on a ramdrive should in theroy run faster.

and ive got a friend who has 1gig og geil3500 ultra so ill see if i can get him to do it.

Been there and done no change.
If you setup up your pagefile right it wont ever go to hard drive during a bench

LMAO
Thats funny because it was a leaked Beta

Compare - running it from normal ATA133 drive, max theoretical bandwidth is 133M<Bps but your gonan get no where near that, runninbg from DDR400 max theoretical transfer rate 3.2GBps, anyone here got HyperOS?

Here is what i've found in "Xtreme Overclocking" forum thread:

stergiopilus

"HDD speed makes absolutely no difference for my 3dmark2001 scores. I tried running 3dmark out of my ram (ramdrive) and there was no improvements in the score over just running it off the hard drive."

That it - the answer we all wanted to see. Maybe, we can close this thread now...
