Does the BH7 support 800MHz FSB processors? Whats the difference between the BH7 and BH7-E?

Whats it loike compared to Canterwood if it does support 800MHz FSB?

Thanks,
Craig

its a normal 845 board that can handle up to 200fsb.

Whereas a canterwood can go past 200FSB this cant then? i dont know much bout intel chipsets :stick: hehe

Thanks,

the 845 is only able to handle about 50-60% of the 800 FSB, cause it's pretty rare to be able to run much more then about 470 or so on that board, and with one stick of ram your not gonna get full use of a 800 FSB with it.

So it will go higher than 800MHz FSB?

with a chipset voltage mod and good cooling? sure, but how much is the question.

its supposed to run 800fsb cpus (200fsb) w/o any probs, so it can probably run 220 without any mods and default cooling.

but i dont think its worth to get such a board and maybe mod it if cantwerood/springdale boards aka 875/865 run up to 300fsb without any mods ;)

875 is canterwood

the bh7 has one of the slowest memory performance of the 845 boards. (not noticable really)

but can get higher fsbs than the other 845 boards

I'm currently running a 2.4C 800 Mhz in a BE-7 Raid. HisSvt2 over at abit forums did a bios mod to enable a 1/6 divider. The AGP/PCI lock on the board quits at around 160. I would say the biggest difference is that there isn't support for Dual Channel DDR with the BH-7. I had the BE-7 originally with my 1.8 in it. I was looking to upgrade to a 2.4 533 Mhz proc but I got a sweet deal on the one I have now. Hyperthreading was a bonus. I can run at 209 FSB on this board right now stable. I haven't had much time to mess around as I just got my processor yesterday.

I guess I never really said it straight, the mobo officially does not support 800 Mhz. If you check over at the abit forums however, you may be able to get a modded bios for it.

:( So even if it went to 800MHZ FSB, couldnt run RAM in sync because no DCDDR :(

yeah, you could run it sync, but you wont have dual channel. FYI, the highest FSB I've ever seen with an i845 chipset was an IT7 doing 240fsb. Dont know if there was a vagp mod done or anything though. Im curious how far the chipset can be pushed with these new 800fs chips.

My BH7 managed to reach about 230 FSB.
