i was looking around for information about the memory IC in them but theres hardly information at all! Does anyone know which kits use the better memory IC for overclocking? I'm hopping to keep it under $300 but will spend a little extra if it's really that good!

under $200.. you've got to be kidding me.
i have this ram:

i bought it at around $300 tho.. anyways, it is prolly the best out there. its D9 and it can get up to 1100mhz when overclocked.

^Aye thanks for noticing it, it's a typo meant to say $300, I heard that it uses D9, does anyone know if G.Skill 4GB kits are using it too?

I recently bought these

While they are almost surely not D9 IC's I've been able to get them to 480Mhz (960Mhz DDR) 5-5-5-15 2T. That's not too bad for a sub $200 4GB kit

Don't bother with a fast 4gb...you'll end up spending a fortune.

I keep wanteng 4 gig in 2 slots also, with the dream of 8 gig in all 4 slots some day.
I was looking at these:
4GB kit (2GBx2), 240-pin DIMM, DDR2 PC2-6400 memory module
CT2KIT25664AA80E
http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=CE4945E7A5CA7304
But it's $449. Why is there such a difference in price, and how much OC will you be giving up on your system running 4 gig in 2 slots?
