Anyone know what the difference is between Dry Ice and LN2 in temps atainable etc and difference between the tweo themselves please?
Thanks,

Well dry ice is like -78C I think (not 100% sure) and LN2 is -196C.
Question answered?

dry ice is frozen carbondioxid,, base form -79C
ln2 is frozen nitrogen water form -196
when using dry ice you need a fluid which will freeze at very low temps (eg ethanol, methanol can be used too..) to fill in it as well.. the choise of this fluid is very important for the cooling effect..
hope it isn't to comfusing...

well, think about this....what if you used dry ice with liquid nitrogen? would that be better or worse than pure liquid nitro?
OK I understand now, thanks guys!

maybe worse, 'cos you'll boil LN2 with dry ice then.
It is called a coctail "Death of Overclocker" - 50% LN2, 50% antifreeze + add some dry ice for boiling:). Coldest :banana::banana::banana:tail ever created by mankind. LOL!

one is a hell of alot easier to use then the other is the major difference
How much do containers cost? How much does LN2 cost...I know its not expensive and also, how long does it last?
Thanks,
Craig

I plan on doing some Dry Ice cooling soon- have an 8RDA+ that I need to do the VDD & High VCORE mods to, and got an XP1700+ T-Bred A RIRGA, XP1700+ T-Bred B DLT3C, an an XP1600+ Palomino AGOIA on the way.
For RAM I've got two 256MB sticks of TwinMOS PC-3200 that do 225Mhz @ 2.78v, and one 256MB stick of Corsair XMS3000C2 that I havn't tested yet- there's also some 512MB A-Data PC-2700 stuff at work that I'd like to try.
Gotta go to home depot to look for some supplies to make a container.

www.onlinemetals.com is where i used to get my waterblock stock, and a I made a dryice container once for an AMD. still around here somewhere,
Got a place that sells Dry ice down the street from me, the guy charges my half as usual 10lbs for $5 here.

Howdy,
Here is a little DivX-video of LN2-cooling:

you never said which one though
anyone know who can make containers that sit on the CPU in the UK
Thanks,
