Since my old NF7 (non-S) rev1.2 couldn't do any higher FSB than 208 despite a Vdd mod, i decided to upgrade to an Abit NF7S rev 2.0
I have 2*256Mb twinmos winbond BH-5 pc3200 in dual channel and an XP 2100+ DUT3C AIUHB 0303 mpmw, capable of 2,4GHz @ 1,9v. in this board.
I also upgraded my CPU cooler from a volcano 7+ to a SLK800 w/ tt 80mm fan and the NB got a crystal orb with AS3 threatment.
I now discovered that my RAM craps out above 210MHz, at 5-2-2-2 no matter what voltage tried 2,7-2,9(overvolts to 3v.) but still signs of the RAM not able to keep up with this speed. :mad:
In 3d mark 2k1 the car chase kicks back to the desktop, isn't that a sign of a RAM related prob?
So after that i tried to run async, 5/6, running the RAM @ 352MHz.
All well, till i raise FSB any higher than 216...NO POST! :stick:
I dont think it's my NB holding me back, cause it doesn't give me the same sort of issue's i had with my old mobo.
I suspect my CPU to be the culprit, is it possible that a cpu won't do higher FSB than 216MHZ??
Tryed multi 9,5>BSOD, tried multi 10>no post, aaargh i'm going insane! :mad:
