Hi, i have a question about my tec-setup:

I would use a 267 watt tec to cool my cpu.
To cool the tec i'd use a xxFlow waterblok with 1/4" barbs, 2 black ice extreme 240 gt's, a eheim 1048 pump.

My questions:

will my tec be cool enough with those 2 rads?

will it get enough water with the 1/4" barbs?

Thanx!:)

IMO I wouldn't want 1/4" barbs. I have not tried it but I don't think you will get a good enough flow rate.

you shouldn't have any problems cooling a 226w tec or a 320w tec with just one of them rads!

What cpu is this going on? What else is under water? What water block are you going to use? What psu are you planning on using?

so many questions! really it is hard to give you much help without the right info...

This would go on an AMD6000+ Socket am2, i am using the Innovatek XX-Flow rev. 2.0 waterblock.

The only thing that's under water is the cpu.
i'd use a auxilary psu to power the tec.

Do you think using 1 or 2 of those rads would make alot of difference?

yes and no. yes it would make a difference but your not trying to cool no 1000w of heat so one would be just fine. a single heatercore does close to 1300btu the one one your looking at will be at least that.

ps sorry I took so long to reply it has been a very busy week!

1300btu: What do you mean by that?

So with my 1/4" barbs and one of my rads it would go just fine?!

I mean they rate rad's in btu format instead of watts.

as for the rad yes one would be fine but as for the 1/4" barbs I would never use. I would not recomend anything other then 1/2" barbs! but That don't mean you can't try it out!

You could also try 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", or 5'8"

But bigger pipes and bigger flow is always better when it comes to TECs, you want to pass as much mass/matter of heat-transfer substrate over your WB cooling the Peltier in order to carry the most heat-dump away.

So with this you see 1/2" is most easily available and affords good waterflow, but I do personally believe that 5/8" connections (if you can find them in NPT) and a Swiftech MCR 220 (with interchanging sizes of NPT barbs) would be best for a TEC setup where is efficiency is of the highest order of priority.
