Hi people. I tried the Crysis beta a few days ago and needless to say my card is going to have a very hard time doing the DX10 effects. So I have been trying to re-max my GTS to get some better performance. My new Stable clocks are 648/1620/900. Mt temps are in the high 50's at load which is very good. So my question to you guys is this. Is there no way to get higher volts on the Core or Mem without hard modding them?? My hands are nowhere near steady enough to use a soldering iron, So I need some kind of alternative. How is it that ATI has volt mods in there control panel but not Nvidia:confused: Somebody by now must have built a software app to do the trick. Thanx, My rig specs are:
E6400 C2D
EVGA 8800GST SC 320mb
ASUS P5B
600 watt Coolermaster
Win XP 32 Bit
163.69 Drivers
Kingston 2 GB DDR 2 533MHZ

I don't think it's worth it... You are seriously better off getting a gtx or going sli.
I also am in the same boat and decided to go sli, because i have the 680i.
Crysis is running slow on my 8800gts/quad core, but they say the final version is going to be much more refined..
I'm running at 688/1620/1010.. So even if you were able to hit 700+, it wouldn't be fast enough for the crysis beta.. I 100% guarantee it.
Save your evga warranty and your card, wait until the crysis is released, and then make a decision on keeping your card, going sli +new motherboard, or going to gtx.

My GTS runs way too hot to even think about volt-modding, but I did it with my old 6800GT. I have no idea if it's done the same way on a GTS, but on my old card I just used nvflash to exchange the stock bios with one that ran with 1.4v as opposed to 1.3v.

Don't run DX10 as it hurts performance without giving almost any noticeable improvement in appearance. Problem solved and you don't have to void your warranty.

Agree with the beta, but heck in the retail you want to have it enabled them, as yes there are alot of noticeable improvements.
