View Full Version : Sick OC results with A-Data PC4000 - DDR620+!

Just happend to browse to a Japanese SETFSB mem OC ranking page and noticed some new results done with Adata PC4000 sticks.
Highest screenshot so far:
http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley/5883/result/3g-gp/ddr628.gif
The said ranking can be found here (http://www.biwa.ne.jp/~yok/Memory-Ranking/Ranking-Table.htm)
Its interesting to see that all the +DDR600 results are done with these A-Data PC4000 modules.
Obviously this is not a stable speed but as you can see the speeds obtained are clearly higher than anything we have seen in the past.
Must get some of that stuff :D

that crazy......
I wonder how that stuff would do on an Nforce2.......

They put between 3.4 ~ 3.75V on those DDR chips....MAD voltages!
Yeah I know you run your HyperX PC3000 @ 3.6V ....still find it a dangerous voltage.

would say its way behiond dangerous ;)

That’s some amazing results DJ!
I just wonder if you have any more benchmarks to show of what kind of performance you would get with this frequency and timings?
Like how this would stand up to 250-260MHz freq. with 2-5-2-2 timings in 3Dmark and such?
And most importantly, how much does the A/C cooling do for the OC potential? What temps are those sticks running at?

It's an ES cpu, he can change the multiplier..
damn thats some nice scores.. looks like the OCZ dude passed out when he saw them :D
they're just crazy at that site, i wouldn't mind a couple of sticks of whatever this dude (http://www.biwa.ne.jp/~yok/OMOSHIRO-GAZOU/JOKE.jpg) is using ;)

Count me in for two sticks also.
I emailed A-Data's HQ asking how I could go about purchasing some of their goods, hopefully I'll get a response tomorrow. I'd LOVE to get my hands on some of their PC4000. The A-Data stuff is incredible. :slobber:
Considering doing another rebuild soon,
Pair that RAM with an IC7-G MAX3 + Vapo.... :slobber:

Think I'm gonna grab a stick tomorrow!

I wonder if these are using the Winbond BH-4 chips that A-data was sampling recently? The ones in the pic are labeled A-data. Do they re-brand or make some of their own as well?

So this is the best memory you can buy bar none right now!!! And probably cheaper than all the fancy heatsinked stuff and crappy slow timing sticks.

How do you guys think your goinng to get 3.5v or more from the Vdimm ?

i'm only going to be running them at 2.8 - 2.85v for now anyway

IMO Kingston Hyper X or Corsair XMS would hit some really high fsb with 3.5v too ! lol

well from my friend in Japan who's getting me A-DATA PC4000 he said he can get them to run F1 on Abit board while his twinmos pc3700 could only run street racer

there are actually 2 kinds of A-Data PC4000 and they both uses different ram chips.
one of them is ADD8608A8A-4B, 6 layers pcb, @500 they're rated CL3. already released in retail market.
the other uses winbond W942508bh-4, and this is still ES.
they both goes under the brand A-Data, if you dunno yet, A-Data is actually a subsidiary of Winbond.
I personally have 2 sticks of ADD8608A8A-4.5B, they simply dont like tight timings, tightest was 5,3,2,2, no matter what FSB.

Well for what it is worth, my money is on the BH-4's whenever they are finally released. I hope they hold the tight timings the way BH-5's do and not CH-5's.

Hmm, one thing that puzzles me is how come on the memory bar it claims the CPU clock is 2651, while CPUID claims the speed is 2512...
Seems a little strange.

wow whats with those 2 guys who got banned in this thead? I noticed alot of bannings recently? Off topic but I am curious? Did they flame someone or something? anyway Back on topic: wow bh4 ram! what timings are we talking about? what timings did he get at ddr620? the high voltages make it a big liability since id never be able to run it that high for 24/7 and it could kill the a64s memory controller, but for those that risk it, imagine a 3200+ at 300+ fsb and 3+ GHz with 2-2-2-5 timings! How high do those guys do at 3.25 volts? 280fsb? I could sure use two sticks of those and stick it in my nf7-s mobo. Grab a moble barton to go with those (280x9.5=2.66GHz) and I could probably pull 19k 3dmarks with mah ti4200!!!!!!!! :drools:

I have also runed them @200mhz 11-2-2-2. More testing later. But they don´t like high mhz and tight timings..maybe @ 4.0v :P

has Adata.
here is a link
http://www.komusa.com/
one must click the drop down menu that shows 'hyperram', then Adata comes into view.
this is kind of funny, i mentioned something about this ram back when the BH-5 was going fast and was getting harder to get and got kinda flamed by GeForce4TI4200 on the timing issues with this ram, now he is singing another tune.
Quote from Gefarces post here,

totally contradictory to his previous posts (in another thread from two months or more back) regarding my suggestion it may be some ram to look into. i believe it had something to do with timings, R U remembering this GeForce???? and it was available everywhere but the US up until recently.
Anyway, it remains to be seen if the stuff works at insane speeds in an Nforce/AMD setup, maybe Geforce4 could test it for us, hehe.

I thought we were talking about 2-2-2-11 timings when bh4 was mentioned! I wont bother with timings worse than that unless its 2.5-3-3-7 and it can do 250+ fsb at 2.9 volts cause then it would be useful for my future a64

thats why pc4000 ram sucks. Id rather have pc3200 ram at 230fsb 2-2-2-11 than 260 at 3-4-4-11!

amusing at best.
have to say, that thread along with millions of reads on BH-5 at the time made me purchase before it was totally insane to find.
whatever, your answers seem to wander to suit the post.
