Well not really.
I left BOINC on today before going to school, I come back after 8 hours, my room smells like burning plastic, I was like wtf, check my pc - looks ok. After I get back from the kitchen to get a drink, my pc is off, I was like what the hell!!!
So I took the pc apart, and I find this:

RIP even my PSU 4 pin connector. Damn I never even thought those things can happen.

Fixed it for now:

System:
Q6600 G0 @3.5GHz (1.6V in bios, 1.48 idle real)
Asus P5B
Corsair XMS2 CL 5 2x1GB
ULTRA 500W PSU
Cheap water

At first I thought "oh boy another P-D 805" but I guess not this time.

I trust you rewired the plug so that the red wire isn't 5V anymore ;)

Weird that my molex is getting hot too, had to put a fan, when all cores @100% I can't hold my hands on them, so hot. Anyone had this problem? Could it be the motherboards fault too? Felling that I need to solder 4x 12v lines and 4x ground wires to the MB.

Sounds like it needs an 8-pin

I'm gonna concur. Those things pull a lot of power, relatively speaking...

Is that molex set for 2-+12v and 2 ground?

yes, 2x 12v and 2x ground.
I guess I need 4x 12v and 4x ground for this beast :(

If the wires themselves aren't getting warm you could just solder the PSU lines to the mobo directly lol.

Or just get a beefier plug and socket.

wow this reminded me of Martijn and his pentuim D lol. but that sucks to see. but nice work in getting it back online! but for sure an 8pin connector would be recommended when you get a new mobo.
