I just received 2 of the OCZ 3700 sticks today and I thought I would give them a try in the old MSI. It's the only one still running. The Abit just decided to not post after a reset, and the Asus got a little wet after I left the prom on with the PC off. I started it and the ice melted a little and that was all she wrote. Back to the original subject. I am not overly impressed with this ram in the least. I have been using some Hyper-x 3500 (2-256) and I can run it at 2-2-2-5 up too about 255 with a 333 MHZ mem speed. Well the OCZ won't even post at 230 2-2-2-5. I had to lower it to 225 to get it to even post, but don't try to get into windows at this speed. I tried different voltages from 2.65-2.95v. If you set the timings at what they suggest, I could get into windows at 265 2-3-3-7 @ 2.9v. I tried running 4 sticks of ram like Ryan stated. It is suppose to improve the bandwidth and even make your OC more stable. Well you be the judge by the screenshots.
First one is with 2 sticks of OCZ, and the secon is with 2 OCZ and 2 Hyper-X

This is with 2 sticks Kingston, and 2 sticks OCZ. Same exact timings voltage etc....

I think its 4 sticks of the same kind of memory then u will see performance gains.

Yeah I remember that is suppose to be how it is, but according to the post where they said it would work, I believe bigtoe was using 2 diff. types of memory. I don't really see why it would have to be 4 of the same as long as you wern't getting any errors or it wasn't crashing it shouldn't matter. ? hopefully someone that is more knowledgeable in this department or that has 4 of the same modules will give it a try.

maybe two of those ocz sticks are samsung and the other 2 are their own ocz memory chips?

and... the first shows benhcing with 4 ocz sticks and results in 5529/5569
the second bench shows the sams fsb and cpu speed and timings i guess but with 2 ocz and 2 hyper x right? and it scores 5218/5227 ... so the 4 sticks ocz ram DO perform better...

...or is the first bench the one with mixed ocz and hyper x?

you were running your ram at 2.9v you mean... or what voltage do you mean with 1.65-1.9?

Where do you get 4 sticks of OCZ? It says
First one is with 2 sticks of OCZ, and the second is with 2 OCZ and 2 Hyper-X . Maybe now you will get it.

ah... that could really have to do with the 4 sticks beeing diferent sticks and not all the same brand...

boards, using all the memory slots can produce a slight slowdown, believe it or not.

many boards are even picky about using all the ram slots.

user specific server boards, like the Intel products are built to handle using all the ram slots, but

unfortunately, it can be very hit and miss with the everyday boards we all use for tinkering in a home environment.
