Once I get moved into my new place and am rehabilitated I'll get a bunch of quads up and running. So, at least count me in for 2 more. I'm going to pay the rent on the office and not go to court:D I'll get my crunchers setup there and run them for free:D I can also host more there if anyone wants in:)

I am committed to build 9 by end of the month. Have bought all the parts I need except for a few cpus.

Let's aim to beat Easynews in the dailies by Oct. 1.

@MM: no prob man!! I am so desperate to increase my crunching rate I had been looking for parts to make a rig with my P 233 and my pga370 celeron :)

had to take my k7 as I got something making short circuit as sparks come out off the power plug ( no :banana::banana::banana:ting). I thought it could be my APC line filter but as far as I ve tested it isnt it to blame

Sierra: Those boards give me wood but huge cost to do one..
I mean over $10,000.00 easy for top cpu's..
Then you need a minimum of 8 gig of memory..
Wait for Yorkies and X38 or better chipsets..

we talking about stock quads? or XS quads?

Anyhow, i'll bring my rigs back up online. They been off because of the needed AC in the house, and the fact i got penalized by DWP for overpower usage.

But now the AC's are off, so i'll bring back 4 quads. 1 is not OC'd too high, the other 3 is full XS style, 3.73, and 3.75, and 3.6ghz. :]

Compucase ATX case
Sparkle 400w PSU
Gigabyte DS3L
Q6600 G0 3.2GHz 1.3v real.
1x1GB Crucial Rendition PC2-5300
40GB SATA HD
Tuniq Tower
no video card

Cost about $500 after scrounging ebay and catching some good sales. I was pleasantly surprised by the Kill-A-Watt reading. That's a good 30-40w less than what my Q6600 B3 rigs draw.

Well I can't put another Quad on right now but I did order a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R 775 MB for my e6600 sitting on the shelf. I will do a little "Server Shuffle" and put the e6600 in my other watercooled case and put the P4d 945 in the other server case. I can't decide if I want to keep the P4 640 crunching because of the output to cost ratio?

I will have the MB and backplate for the waterblock on Monday so I can get moving on the shuffle. I think I will start buying rack mount cases because I do have two full and one half two sided racks.

No, I plan to build the whole thing from scratch. The Asus mobo for Amd quadFX had two Nvidia chipsets which sucked more power than any other mobo out there.

This weekend I'll make a special effort to fix the network at my hosts place, where I can only run certain projects.

Since victor has announced 'spank Easynews week', I think if i got my a$$ in gear i could bring 2 quads and a Dual for that week along with a few others.

Well I got the e6600 on the new GA-P35_DS3R Monday curently @3.33Ghz and still testing (thanks Eric). The TIM is MX-2 and it is much easier to deal with than MX-1. So far I really like this DS3R.

I did the server shuffle and the P4d 945 is currently running @4Ghz on air and still testing while the same TIM cures in some. I was looking to replace my Badaxe2 with a P5K Premium or a DQ6 but I just might wait for the X38 boards.

Sig, dont waste your time on x38.. Stick with the P5K Premium and wait out x48. Unless you deff need the 16x16 and are a serious gamer/bencher you wont see any difference from P35 to x38.. This is only my opinion if thats worth anything:rofl:

form what i have seen so far quads seem to oc a good 35mhz on the FSB more than on the P35 so the boards will be better at overclocking quads (im not sure about duals)

For cooling outside of AC all I can suggest is window fans and maybe a couple by the machinery to dissipate it.
Post a pic of the room and setup and maybe I or one of the guys can come up with an idea.

Thanks. I guess now my rigs can do something worth while instead of just running up my electric bill. Now I can justify having a "farm" as some of you do. Now all I need are the funds to build it. I can just see my wife asking why I need to bolt a rack to the foundation of our house. And I'll honestly be able to say that I'm doing it for the good of mankind. I should have started a long time ago...

The new quad came in yesterday, and is in place in the DFI. Doing 3479 MHz for now. Still dialling it in. VCore is set to 1.41, reading 1.36. Temps are in the mid-50's. I may re-do the mounting of the HS. Gonna see how everything settles in.

Thinking about trying to sell it and buying a couple of Q6600's. If I did that I'd gain two cores as I'd replace the QX6700 and an E6700 with Q6600's.... (Then I'd have an E6700 for sale....... Does it ever end?)
