STEvil,

You need all the pc's connected to the router via ethernet.
1 pc with modem/phoneline shares dialup connection over lan
if your router doesnt want to act as just a switch, i.e. no wan connection
i'd contact linksys(is it?) and ask for new firmware/support over it and i'm quite sure they will be able to help.
After looking at that other thread, what those guys were saying is correct.
So if it still aint workin, its a router software limitation.

Only my 2cents after a long day of work, please excuse me ;)

I've been through what they suggested and have gone a bit off the deep end talking with some guys on IRC who are running a large datacenter/isp.....

we've been to the point just shy of running a double NAT'd setup.. and the best thats happened so far is I was able to get the other pc's in the house to see the one as a DHCP server instead of the router.

Still wont send any net traffic over LAN though, keeps trying to send it over WAN it seems, and with a pc on WAN it wont go through that I can tell. I'm going to throw an x-over cable at it tomorrow as thats about all I havent done yet.

I know its a silly question but are the firewalls all turned off.

Also can you get an IP on the other systems ?

If so can you ping them ?

Otherwise try a static IP using 192.168.0.1 as gateway and DNS and then see if you can ping.

Hope that helps.

So what're you using to share the dial-up connection, windows ICS?

Hooking the dial-up "server" to the lan port would be the correct way, since that way you can use the router as a switch/access point(when I was back at home we did just this, with an astaro box as the gateway/firewall). You'll have to make sure the dhcp server on the router is turned off, otherwise it'll be competing with the server's and give the wrong gateway/dns addresses out. That is unless you're just running a proxy on the server, in which case you'll just have to set the proxy settings on all the comps.

Are the computers running SP2 or greater XP?

If so, I'd say thats the problem:ROTF:
I dont even try and network sp2+ pc's, its just a headache.

XP SP2 has no trouble networking, I do it all the time  Have had it talking to other XP SP2 machines, XP SP1 machines, and vista.

Pretty much got the problem pinned down to the router NATing all traffic going through it reguardless of DHCP being on or off.

Was able to get other PC's to see the ICS PC as DHCP/Gateway but the router was still stealing all the traffic meant to go to the ICS PC.
