That board was just fine when it went in.. I thought maybe I did something.. I'm just thinking that it got to hot and warped idk:shrug:

Edit: Yes thats the mosfets and I only had the volts set to 1.2v or so not auto.

Those mosfets get mighty toasty! Before I even installed my Deluxe, I removed all the heatsinks and heatpipes, removed the thermal pads and applied MX-1 to everything. Then I put a Spot Cool on the mosfet HS and another fan on the chipset and everything stays nice and cool.

I've got the same problem with mine! The ones in the middle don't even touch the sink :|

I think AndyM over in the liquid cooling section made some thick metal backplates for his to straighten it out.

Thanks for the heads up Eric. I guess I'll be pulling mine to check now....

I called Asus earlier today and explained the problem and also sent the rep a pic... I just got this email back from them:mad:

Eric,

I’ve spoken to my supervisor and I was notified that this is not a known Issue. We can only attempt to repair the board for you if there are any other defective problems but cannot fix the Warped area.

Do you want to ship it in?

Thanks,
Sean

What?!?!

thats rediculous..... I'd get a hold of someone else above him.... if you continue to complain then they will usually give in... thats just rediculous tho...

I think I'd respond to the guy that every "known issue" starts with one customer bringing it to their attention and that doesn't change the fact that it is defective.
If he still hardballs you let him know that your filing a complaint with the attorney general in Virginia and in California for breach of contract( the warranty)

I just sent an email asking for his supervisor to call me and said that this is not acceptable. If I dont hear from a supervisor I'll just call them again and sit on hold for another 45min to speak to some other low level moron.

A friend of mine had the same problem with you and he spoke with a supervisor and my friend said that he would file a complaint for ASUS breaching their contract as MM suggested and having said that it was all cleared up. My friend sent in the board and got a replacement.

Bail, that is so true. Sad to say I am an owner of an ASUS board.

The shame of it is that Asus used to be the tops IMO..
That is all I would buy, before I moved to the dualies..

Personally I´m also getting tired of the quality. Not with Asus as just, but overall. But I guess we only really have the options between something like an non/low OC Intel standard board(but I want solid caps!) and these boards with 9999 features and other stuff.

But one big problem is also companies like Asus makes 13 P35 boards and so on. Rather than 2-3.

So its like plague vs kolera.

That's cholera, but your right..If asus concentrated on 3 boards vs a dozen the quality and headaches would take care of themselves..

All asus motherboards i've ever owned have died or become unusable...

In my case lives, and I really mean lives, cause it has been there for 5 years, and been raped in every possible way, and ASUS is its name.

But, that's maybe because it's from the days, they had to make quality, to gain market.

Same old story, they grow big, and arrogant.

Same old story, they grow big, and arrogant. That is with every market. As a result, the end users (us) get screwed over.

Well i've got, from RMA, a **new** P5KC with bent pins @ the CPU socket. Noticed it after hours building the rig, so i went to Asus personally here, and they just said they're sorry, but they think i bent the pins and therefore no RMA
I'll probably toss the mobo since i don't have time to waste, but whenever i find the time, i'll publish the story in all hardware forums here in Israel, so i teach them a lesson.

Yeah, I don't think I will buy an Asus board after hearing this. Nj, don't take no for an answer!

I split my ways with ASUS after two defective A7V600s (socket A via chipset) and 3 defective P5N32-Es. No more, i said, and bought a Gigabyte. There is one thing that I miss: ASUS ftp was good (except it was slow like hell) - you could download every version of every bios/soft/driver (not just the newest).
