way x38,i think not a big difference betwen 2 of this.x38 suport sli,i dont need sli.i use single card.
i dont have problems, but price drop, and my cpu work at higher voltage at this mobo,i have e6750,i think its good for me,to upgrade at p35.
Principal motive for change is temperatures of mobos, mcp and scp,is minimum 60 and 50,its hot,and i have issues with lan on board.
P35 is better. Should do much more fsb and the chipset is newer design.

The P5K Deluxe did not have to "mature"; it's been excellent from day one!

evga 680i is a very sexy mobo... make sure to clean / reapply thermal to north/south bridges.

I just got the EVGA 680i and a Q6600 changing from an Abit In9 32MAX & E6850. All I have to say is that I wastet so much time with the Abit and that stability has returned to my system again.
I run my Q6600 at an easy 3.6Ghz and RAM @ 1066 Mhz and it runs like charm and everything (I use) flys. I also use it with 4 Sticks of RAM for a total of 4GB. I run the RAM at 2 volts while I needed 2.2volts on the abit.
All in all great board and since I NEEDED SLI (30" monitor here) I could have not make a better choice. I use the P30 bios which is the latest and has improvements with quad overclocking.
However, if you do not need SLI I would hold off 1-2 weeks for x38 to show up and read some reviews and then decide.
Too bad that SLI is not supported by Intel chipset no matter how ridiculous it sounds that it supports crossfire.

i have evga nforce680i sli and it has worked great so far, but i must say that many people haven't been that lucky.
don't know whose fault it has been users or boards.. but if i were you i would go for some p35 mobo..
maybe abit ip35 pro or the new DFI LANPARTY UT P35-T2R if you want the best ;)
personally i detest asus boards every single one i have ever owned had sucked big time.. and the last one was p5k deluxe. :(
Only reason to go for 680i is when you want to use 2 nvidia cards. If not id pick P35, especially with your multi 8 proc.

Do you plan on going SLi ? What size crt/LCD do you use ? if you are on like a 24'' or bigger you might want to consider going for 2x GTX's/Ultras  in SLi when they drop a lil more in price.. really sweet setup.. Thats why i went with the eVGA 680i, so that i do have that option when the time comes.
Depends on what you want to do !!

Consider searching a bit on the net about bigger than 19' monitors. There are many PVA 20'+ monitors... ;)
