Well I play games competitively (CS 1.6 [800x600 resolution] and CS:S[1024x768 resolution] for now) and I'm currently using a 19' Sony Trinitron but it's losing its colors and there's some red lines that are noticeable in the dark.

Anyhow, I wanted to buy a new monitor and I'm thinkin an LCD. I just don't know how the switch from a CRT to LCD will be, especially a widescreen...

I've stopped on these 2 models ( I think the 20" is better. )
SAMSUNG 906BW Black 19" 2 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 2000:1 DC - Retail (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001094)
$219.99
($199.99 after $20.00 Mail-In Rebate)

and

SAMSUNG 206BW Black 20" 2 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 800:1 (DCR 3000:1) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001095)
$259.99
($239.99 after $20.00 Mail-In Rebate)

What do you guys think? Has any hardcore gamer here switched from CRT to LCD?
All feedback is welcome

Thanks.

If you want the best for gaming then get the Samsung 226BW regardless of A, C, or S panel types. They have the lowest input lag and ghosting of all LCD monitors. However performance comes at a cost and that cost is a TN panel which has fairly poor color reproduction. If your lucky enough to get an S panel then the colors are actually quite good but the other two aren't as great. However other monitors are perfectly fine for gaming and I use my 24" LG for competitive FPS. The input lag on my monitor is 22/1000ths of a second. The input lag on a Samsung 226BW is between 8 and 12/1000ths of a second. I decided I would much rather have better color reproduction then have a small performance increase which would be imperceivable to the human brain.
