I built a computer for my sister and sent it to her. I had it and tested it for over 3 weeks and it worked great. I sent it to her and after all was hooked up she said the keyboard beeps every so often. It is the MX 3200 Laser. What could this be. I never heard anything at my place and have never heard anything like that before. She said that it seems to happen if the keyboard gets too close to the monitor. What do you think? Thanks.

Wow... that sounds weird. She could be pushing too many keys at once... but that is my only guess.

With the keyboard just sitting there and them doing nothing it beeps every so often.

I have this keyboard and use it all the time.
My first thought was that you were touching the scrol bar on the left side (it makes a little noise)
Where is your receiver located? the beep noise only happens when I press the connect button the the base of the keyboard but maybe if the receiver is in a odd place its having to re-connect all the time...

Could it have anything to do with the timer on the lcd screen of the keyboard? I am too far away to help her without looking.

I dont think it would be the timer because you would know if you set it and its more of a jingle than a beep and once you press something it goes off until you reset it. the alarm is also the same and only works every 24 hours unles you reset it.
has she had any problems with the mouse at all?

Also if you havent already try resetting the keyboard by taking all the batteries out.
