Just a quick question before I install this, is it ok to use the stock plastic back plate?

I could not use its original yellow plastic plate, the thumb screws are too short to reach the plate. You have to replace it with ASUS metal plate

I'm sure he's right, I had to do that with an Ultra-120. You could try to turn the back plate backwards, but that would probably just pull the nuts out.

I used the stock backplate with mine. You just have to leave off the springs when installing the tuniq tower.. Tit for tat!! My mobo is not in a case and sat flat on the desk, so it's wasn't a big deal for me.

Well I tried installing it without the springs and it worked "ok", but I wasn't happy with it and took it apart again and ordered one of the following

Should be 100% fine with that wouldn't you say? :)

You can install it without the springs but I just dont feel good with that.

And I also tried that metal plate from your website before and it didnt fit into my nF4 expert due to some resistors on the back.

If you have some thermal tape you could just put that on the back of the plate. It wont hurt the resistor that way. Should probably put some on there anyway if the plate doesn't have anything for backing.

You could also try a longer screw. I believe they're #4s. Should be able to get them long enough to still use the springs.

The plate has arrived and it has a thin layer of plastic on the top side.

So I'd say it would be fine.
