Hey guys,

tonight my DFI Lanparty M2 590 SLI died i think...
Turned computer off, later turned it on and get two long beep tone sequences.
Digit display shows C1 which means that the memory could not be recognized.
Since i took one of the memory modules out and turned board back on again still same problem with both modules. Therefore i think the board might be defective

I am so angry right now because on wednesday my 6400 and a watercooling set will arrive and now my board has vaporated :(

Any ideas which could be the problem?? I dont think its the ram but besides that i guess there is nothing i can do except trying to dissassemble the whole rig and try again....

Ok just in case i want you to give me some advice for an alternative board.
I want to overclock and i need a cheap board with raid support, SLI not necessary. The board should have (execptional)good CPU volt adjustments like the Lanparty and be able to oc to more than 320 MHZ chipset frequency.

Since i need probably a quick replacement i dont care about the brand.
It should be a good bang for the buck board. I have read somewhere that maybe foxconn or biostar sell soem cheap oc friendly boards but i have no clue which ones are good for me.
Therefore i hope you guys could propose me some nice alternatives!!!

Please help an eXtRemEEm Memeber ;)

Are you sure its not the ram? If you have or can get some different ram to try I'd try that before I got a new board.

Also, from what I remember, sometimes one of the first things to go on AMD cpus is the memory controller. It may not be the case any longer, but I'd try to check the cpu before I'd get a different board as well.

Thanks for the reply.

Put only one memory module on the board with the same result. And repeated with the other one. Therefore i thought i must be the board because it is not very common that both memory modules die.

Thanks for the advice with the processor, i will try and see what happens when i excange it.
But anyway if someone has a great budget oc board please tell me. Just in case.

if u can wait buy when the am2+ boards come out since it will drop the price on normal am2 or u might get a shiny new amd chipset insted of the nforce and it might even be cheaper is u get a single pci-e slot board that will oc

new stuff ~septenber 10

Ok changed the cpu but same issue.

I know that in september new boards arrive but dunno their price tag and not necessarly better on AMD X2 64 than the previous.

I need a quick dirty cheap oc replacement board

Solid board with good reviews on it's overclocking abilities.

Well, definately the board. The Gigabyte that was suggested is a very good option. The voltage options are somewhat limited, but you may not need that much voltage. Otherwise they usualy overclock very well, are well built and stable
