what do you guys think? i'm planning on oc'ing it, do you think i'm overpaying, should i downgrade? any thoughts would help

For the 70ish dollar difference get a Q6600

e6750 is cheaper than a e6600, and the later G0 steppings clock better too.
Don't know of too many e6420's that clock as well as a e6600 though...

For a few more dollars I'd definitely go with a quad core, but it looks like a solid system.

ok so could i use the same motherboard cause they are both LGA 775 sockets?

someone on another site said the memory was a bad choice but i was rated 4x best memory on newegg.com

anyone have any ideas where i can save some money?

It's a great choice! maybe with a quad it could be better,but anyway, is very good! Ah, if you get q6600, i would suggest watter cooling!

Yeah, definitely go Quad and also I don't waste your money on an HD cooler. Also why are you buying a seperate NIC?

and u might want to swap motherboards to one that isnt a reference spec if ur going to use oced ram in more than 1 stick per bank, and u should pobly get a ram cooler
