Hi

I just built my PC its not the greatest thing in the world
just me using some extra money i had

my first problem came with the processor...which i
kept buying the 940 pins for a 939 board...lol amazon sucks.

msi a8n-sli se
e-geforce 7600gt
and an amd 3800+ processor 64 fx i think

i set up everything and the first time i turned it on it was ok
it reached up til just about to begin windows
then it stall at the point where it tells u to
reload last working config
or start windows normal

that screen
i put start windows normal
it reset my pc
the next time my pc came on i notice the color looked a bit dull
then i did reload working config

reset again
and then the words in bios and everything started up in
blue

then give it a few more tries
trying to figure out if it was some conflict or wire problem
then i tried the monitor using my laptop and it worked
perfectly
then my pc turns on...powers up
caps lock can turn on and off
but no graphics at all
no words nothing

have i burnt out my graphics card?

do u have the external power on the grafix card b its self on its own power rail, and i think that ur problem may be motherboard related try reseting the comsc and it should post or at least beep

You are missing some power somewhere...did you plug in all the power supply plugs into the motherboard?

Your motherboard needs 3 power connections:
1) 20/24 pin atx on the top right
2) square 4 pin on the top left
3) rectangular 4 pin right above the top pci-express slot

lol with my first build i forgot to plug in one of the smaller plugs and my windows xp just faded away during boot...yours might come back to life with the proper connections but mine required a cosmos reset (taking out the battery and putting it back in...don't do this if you don't know what you are doing...)

ok i'm now installing windows vista
its like half way through the installation..
up to the point where my computer turns on and off
itself and goes into windows and does the devices and
components part

now the problem i'm facing is that
the vista bar comes up and starts to load
then windows begins to start but then
it just shows a line at the top instead of loading the actual
windows or anything...
caps lock is still working
my monitor light begins to blink
after a few seconds
meaning that it has no response from the card...
if i remember correctly thats what that means...

sorry for all the trouble.
