View Full Version : TEC'ing GFX in CF
Okay plan is to TEC both my X1900XTX that run in CF.
Cooling is water!
Thermochill PA120.2 x 2
Micro RES or T-Line x 2
DD Maze 4-1 x 2
Masterclear tubing
DDC 18w or D5 x 2
Yate loons x 4
Yes that 2 loops, 2 indervidual loops, dual loops!
Now as far as i can tell the DD kit comes with an 80w jobby.
My psu is going to be a Meanwell S-320-12.
So i'm hoping i have enough cooling for the hot side of the tec . . . ?
Can i safely run the 2 80's off that psu and is it worth going higher watts so my GPU's core will be colder?
Idealy i'd want to cool the Vreg mosfet thing and ram under water. Yep on both cards! I will if i can get blocks to do this add them 2 compontes (4 total) into the NB, SB and mosfet loop thats on a PA120.1
seems pretty good to me, all I can say is you must have a ton of money after seeing all the projects you've done

I don't think 80W's will do the job...

Missed that part, yeah I agree go higher on the watts, the x1900xtx is a pretty hot card

go with the 226w tec's
DDC 18w or D5 x 2
D5 I don't like the ddc pumps at all

well the answer is yes and no
yes you can run both tecs off the same psu but no you cant run 2 80 on top of each other you would have to put like a 40 want and then stack an 80 on top of that. pain in the @$$ and you never get as cold as your hopping to. so just get the 226w tec and your in great shape.
Some confusion in here i think.
Right so will that PSU power 2 techs?
I want 1 PSU and 2 tec's, 1 tec per card.
So what can be done. I think you guys though i was goinng to put 2 tec's ontop of each other...which is silly

You need two 320-12's to power ONE 226watt TEC for each card. One psu per tec, per card. Anything less and you wont get alot out of it.

yes you can run 2 tecs off that psu! and if your doing 2 cards each having an 80w that would be fine. although I think you would want a little higher wattage tec not really sure on the heat output of your 1900's
Only room for one PSU sadly

that is one of the reasons chiller are much better then tec. you can set up a chiller and run the chilled water over both cars and cpu as well as north and get much better overclocks!
No room! I got a SS being built, it could have a SLHX for water chiller i guess!
TEC just made a lot of sense!
Okay 172w tec seams to be needed! One per card!
40x40mm in size

make sure you check again before you order the 172w tec because I have seen several 40mm and several 50mm so double check the size of it!

DD sells a 40mm 172, I've run a set in CF myslef on modded MCW50+T's. Only problem with the 172W, you need to run it around 19-20V and even there the card will delta pretty badly under load running the voltage needed for 800+ core. A 24V dedicated PSU is best with a chilled loop.
24v PSU with a 27A output is what i need!
Temps will be -5c/+10 as the old owner of one card had the same sorta.
Hoping to get it sorted. There is temptaion to make a SLHX on the SS as TEC is going to eat elecy
