i was just wondering if anyone can recommend how much power and possibly amps on each rail i need for my setup or am i ok with the power supply that i already have. i currently have:
AMD Opteron 165 @ 2.53 1.40V / Zalman CNPS9500
ASUS A8N-SLi Deluxe
PNY 2x512MB DDR500 2.80V
WD 2x160GB SATAII / WD 250GB SATAII
eVGA 7800GT @ 445/1070
SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit
ASUS 16X DVD-ROM
NEC 16X DL DVD-RW
Floppy
2 case fans (1 120mm & 1 80mm)
my current power supply is an Ultra 600 watt. the amps are:
5V 25A
3.3V 30A
12V1 18A
12V2 20A

That power supply should be fine with your comp, nothing too power consuming there. Im running an Ultra 500W on mine :)

u will about 430W constant so thats a 500-550W psu, but u need to make sure that its a nigle 12v rail thats been split so that u get the power u need, adn ur ok with what u have

430w with a 7800GT, yea right! You should do some research and stop posting BS!
If you would have read NickS's thread, you'd know a QX6700 + 8800GTX drew a maximum of 493w using a Liberty 500w and that's not counting efficiency.
QX6700 @ 3.8GHz and a 8800GTX @ 650/1100 and I was drawing ~400w in 05.
Man, people really overestimate their power usage.

i was guessing about 430W whats the difference in over estimating by 30W and the 500-550 will do that setup fine so whats ur problem

ok thanks for the input guys. i thought that this 600 watt psu was more than enough for my system and i was right. thanks again. :)
btw, how long do you think this psu will last? just an est.

Indeed, 600W is more than enough, I´d estimate that your system has never drawn more than 300W from the wall socket.
