Hey guys!

Only wanted to know a simple question, are laptop drives compatible with desktop motherboards?

I think the connections are different, even though they advertise as IDE and SATA, variations, no?

:D

Thanks

Yes the laptop drive has a small 50 pin socket. You can buy an adaptor which plugs in the back where you can use an IDE connector. Just search for a laptop drive adaptor. I have seen one that has a SATA connector.

there are a lot of SATA hard drives out there. best advice is to find something like the enhance Q14SS that allows you to mount them all together.

Thanks Dave!

I envisage building a quiet SFF PC with a laptop optical drive mainly because they're small and perhaps a laptop HDD

:D

Thanks again, to both of you,
