I don't think so. Nothing majorly noticeable at any rate. However I for one prefer the look of ati's cards.

There is no difference, see for yourself. There is nothing to "prefer" as for as IQ goes. Only thing to prefer is a brand name

There's a "general" view on ATI having a better 2d image than NVIDIA.
About 3d, i haven't an idea, who's better than who....
But, please do not take this as a confirmation, just a, "i know the song about that"

Better 2D Image?
After having 4 different monitors here and 3 video cards, and from using different cards from Nvidia/ATI over the years, I have to disagree.
They are the same.
ok thanks guys , guy is arguing with me that the gts had no problems when it first came out? more heads are better than 1!
anyone have any ideas , i know there were no vista drivers untill late jan

They had drivers when they first came out. Just no DX10 compatible drivers, which in all honesty was no big deal since there were no DX10 games to play on them.

ok i know that , but there must have been issues?

So you don't like the song. :D
Well, i have had both, over time, and I couldn't tell.
But this refers to the old cards from ATI and Nvidia, where people working with heavy graphics could tell a difference in 2D.
So i guess you had to be VERY picky about things, to notice.

ATI did release a product without mature drivers, its what almost a ~40% gain in overall quality and performance of the HD2900 since its release? (Round about guess at performance increases thus far, no its not a fact.) And the fact that AA makes the card have a large hit to it either lies in the drivers themselves, or in the hardware as Diltech has stated.
well dx10.1 will require software based aa like the 2900
so nvidia will have to put out a card with software based aa , or else it wont support dx10.1 and they wont do that...so ati have a card and technology advance already

Current nVidia software is capable of doing software AA; they'll just incur the same perf hit that ATI does. Why do that when you don't have to?
ATI currently has some issues with IQ that I've witnessed myself first hand. These seem to be the result of driver bugs. (I sure hope they're bugs and not Quack.exe) See: http://www.beyond3d.com/content/reviews/47/3

You used a 1900 and a 7900 and couldn't tell the difference? You must have been peppersprayed at the time then:rofl:
Since march 06 I've used a 7800GT, 7800GTX 512, 7900GTX, 7950GT, 2 different X1900XTs (512mb) and now own an X1900XTX and an HD2900XT, I have 3 friends with 8800GTXs and one with another HD2900 XT. I can safely say that no matter what monitor you could see the difference between the the last generation. I believe that you can also see the difference between 8800/2900 while the game is in motion (easier than stills) And I prefer the 2900 but that's just me...and If I had to use an 8800 as my main card I wouldn't mind at all.
