Oh, and in reponse to your last post, the 3-4 computers that I have folding installed were built by yours truely. Only one of them resides in another house, which is my girlfriends. But I built it with my extra components, so i still consider it my folding Rig :)

See thats cool. But lots of these guys arent using their own comps for folding and thats why they have so many WU finished. Now I am not dissing them for that but it would be nice to know who is folding with their own $$$. But I think Hardass is folding with his own rigs.


Oh BTW if it wasnt for my power issues and swapping around computers components I would have a better lead. Now I am down a NIC and the new Linux rig is folding very badly and one of my 1800+ rigs needs a video card... Since I am no longer employed hehe I have time to swap in a video card! So hopefully tonight I have my second 1800+ back folding and i can slap another coat of black paint on my sister's comp's front panel.

I have 3 rigs folding..built and owned by me, with a 4th to come soon as completed. They fold 24/7. Just started folding for 1st time only a few days ago and think it a great idea for a very worthwhile cause. No matter how many rigs you own or have access to...it all adds up. I like a little good hearted competition and ribbing, just to make it more fun. Which reminds me...took that #10 spot a few minutes ago. Don't slack off guys...how you gonna live it down when the new guy passes you?

They're only a few hours of the day, with the exception of one - which does in fact run 24/7

I am down 1 pc for a while...leaves 2 folding. The Epox will not boot after a cpu and ram swap. Diagnostic lights don't even come on. Hopefully back up soon...looks like the number 8 spot is safe for a while..can't catch him now.

Thanks...just ordered the same board as replacement and RMAed the old one. I like the board..it's my first Epox...if the new one dies..it's back to Abit and volt mods. My Samsung ram came today, now I gotta wait to see what it will do.:mad:

Unfortunately, all my boards that died had been heavily siliconed for Peltier use, so there was no RMA'n them :(

Yeah...I had silicone under the cpu....running a vapochill...got it off with Qtips and nail polish remover.

Well this was that Dow Corning Silicone... do you think it would work for that?

I kinda doubt it..doesn't that stuff dry hard? The stuff I used stayed soft and was easy to remove. There is some stuff that they use to clean boards..they dip them and soak them, but I don't recall it's name. Maybe post a thread asking about it..worth a try..gets expensive after a while doesn't it?

Yeah sure whatever... for some reason one of my rigs is having trouble with NICs. Not just one but 2. Switched cables and swapped the NIC over a few PCI slots and still nada.

XP sucks. :( I thought i had my rigs a settled.

Sorry to hear about all the problems...I know how frustrating that can be. I have been getting a lot of DOA parts recently and it's a real pain in the butt. I just ordered a new abit AT7 and plan to move my sound and nic card over to my old Abit KR7A and pop in an old cpu (if it works). That about taps me out money wise for a while so I hope nothing breaks down. I might have a couple of nic cards around somewhere if you need one and I'm sure between everyone's spare parts, we could keep each other up and running if need be. That's why they call it a "team". :)

Just got my Abit AT7 up and running to replace the OLD pentium 133 that was chugging along. Bought a Linksys 8 port hub to replace the 4 port..$29 on Newegg..not bad. Another Abit board is due back from Abit RMA on 7/24..gonna use the parts replaced by onboard stuff on the AT7 to put together another rig and add it to the network. That will make 5 rigs folding 24/7....muuuhaha!:D

Good eye! Don't have the fans on yet...I have 2 120mm fans that will be blowing thru it soon. I just wanted to make sure all the parts worked. I got the MSI DDR board from Newegg refurbished $32 and wasn't even sure it would post but it runs fine and doesn't have a scratch on it. I hear it's pretty much pot luck with refurbed parts from them. The pump has a slow leak that I have to seal where it connects to tank. Other than that, seems fine. Running an xp1800 green AGOIA cpu that should OC a couple hundred mhz at least. 256mb Mushkin 2100 DDR... Old 4mb video card and old compaq nic that I still have to drop an ethernet cable to from the ceiling. If I find a cheap case, I'll pack it up..until then, it will fold as is.
