Hello all,

Well.. my 7900 GT (Galaxy) has apparently died... was going one minute (although was getting tiny colored dots for awhile), and then upon restart the screen was totally messed up with the POST screen only just discernable and now it won't start at all.

My question is: is there any warranty of any kind on these ? I bought it last year on Trademe (NZ version of Ebay) so I don't have a receipt. Should I attempt to get it repaired ? I'm quite poor really so I have to try to do something with this - no money to get a new card. Appreciate any suggestions.

The tiny colored dots were like what?

if they are like these or similar to it, it's probably that you have one of the faulty 7900GT's that were discovered with a faulty tension regulator on the back side of the card that were overheating and creating artefacts...

These are the ones...:http://img54.imageshack.us/my.php?image=7900gtback5ag.jpg

but IMO, you can try to RMA the card, if the warranty is still on it, Nvidia or Galaxy will send you one with no problems on it ;)
