I have a Cooler with 2 glass sliding doors.
Recently, the Embraco FFI12HBX compressor was replaced with a Tecumseh AEA4440A.
I'm just a little concerned about it and looking for a little assurance that it should work fine.
The concern comes from the fact that the FFI12HBX uses R134A refrigerant and the AEA4440A uses R12. I would have thought an AEA4440Y would have been more appropriate, but then I'm not a refrigeration expert.

Could comeone ease my mind a little?
Thanks!

Well...I think you are right to be concerned. The problem is that R134a and R12 use different oils. Did your technician flush the POE out of the system, and then install R12 compressor charged with R12 and mineral oil? Did he drain the mineral oil, and is using an R12 compressor with POE and R-134a?

Take a look at the invoice and whatever answers aren't there, ask the technican for the details of what he did.

R12 isn't used any more. If the Refrigeration tech is a pro he should be carrying around a tank of RS-24 which for those of u that don't know is an r134a & R12 drop-in replacement.
