Hi everybody,

I'm Leo, from Brazil. This is my first "real" post. I went watercooler a few years ago but without too much knowledge used a wrong radiator, weak pump, etc. I ended upgrading my CPU months later and kept the koolance block and other stuff at the garage.
I used to write heatsink reviews for a Brazillian website, clubedohardware.com.br but got a full time job so I quit.

This time I'll go WC again, I did my homework on reading everything here at the forums and I'm really impressed how things evolved. We have plenty of information on anything that matters: flow, materials, tubes and fittings, pumps, etc.

I'll be on vacation in USA next month so I'm planning to get all needed parts and bring them home. My store options are just a few, Petra's and Sidewinders probably. I bought from Sidewinder and SVC some years ago but I'm inclined to use Petra's service, since their known good service and help choosing WC parts.

I wish it costs less for watercooling but my upgrade plans includes a Q6600 and a 8800GTS 640MB videocard. I need to keep them cool since I OC a lot and my city is not what we could call "cool weather".

Here is my parts list (from Petra's website):

D-TEK FuZion Universal CPU Waterblock - 1/2" $64.99
Laing D5 Vario/Swiftech MCP655 Inline 12V DC Pump $87.99
7/16" ID (5/8" OD) Masterkleer General Purpose Clear PVC Tubing 10' $4.90
Swiftech MCR-320 "Quiet Power" Series Radiator - Black + 1/2'' D-Tek High-Flow $58.99
Swiftech MC8800 SMC Cooling Kit $39.95
Swiftech MCW60 GPU Waterblock w/ G80 Adapter Plate (Retail Edition) $46.95
Danger Den High-Flow Fitting (G 1/4" Thread, 1/2" OD) $4.40
1/2" OD T-Fitting (for 1/2" and 7/16" ID Tubing) $1.99
Danger Den Delrin FillPort $11.95
Danger Den Filling Syringe $2.25
Petra'sTech "PT_Nuke" Concentrated Biocide (10mL) $2.50
5 120mm Yate Loon D12SM-12 Case Fan - Black (70.5 CFM, 33 dBA) (Out of Stock) $19.96
5 120mm Wire Fan Grille - Black $5.94
5.25" Sunbeam Rheobus Fan Speed Controller - Black $15.99

TOTAL 368.75

here are the questions:

- Is this setup approved by the WC masters for my CPU and videocard?
- I quoted the Black Ice GT Stealth 360, the price is similar to the MCR-320, what about performance? I read a lot of reviews of other Black Ice models but none for the Stealth line. Are the GTS models GT Stealth?
- I'll install everything internal, in an old full atx case. I'll post pics in the next weeks in a specific project thread. I'll need to paint it and mod it a lot but I took the measurements and it seems that everything will fit.
- I'll probably buy some other parts from Newegg, since Petra is out of stock for YS fans. I thought about buying a TC120.3 but they are out of stock everywhere. I told you guys that I need to buy all parts at the same week to bring them within my baggage.
- Am I missing anything? Sugestions?

Sorry for the long post and for my english mistakes, I'm portuguese spoken, english is my second language.
Take care you all.:)

if i were you i would lose that tubing and go with this

doesnt kink and tube walls are nice and thick so you can use screw clamps also you could go with the cheaper apogee gt and bow it, it will be cheaper and will perform similar or if not better than a dtek fuzion

IMO, that cooling system should work fine, given the components that you're cooling.

Yes, many just shorten GT Stealth to GTS. Anyway, I'd advise going with the MCR320 over the GTS 360 due to its better performance with lower CFM fans (especially if you plan on undervolting those Yates).

We should have more Yate Loon fans by the end of this week (tracking information says that they were supposed to be delivered today...but they weren't. Go figure  ). You didn't mention where you're visiting (then again, that's not exactly any of our business) but... if you happen to find yourself in the San Francisco Bay Area region of California, you're more than welcome to stop by and pick up some stuff ;)

If you're buying extra fittings (say, for your MCW60 or whatnot), then I'd recommend D-Tek's high-flow fittings over Danger Den's due to the D-Tek fittings being of higher quality (their plating/overall finish is nicer, the threads are much nicer, they feature recessed o-rings, and are compatible with practically everything that Swiftech makes).

Thanks Petra! Nice to hear directly from you. I'll take your advice on Dtek fittings, I'm buing them for the MC60.
I was in SF last year, my boss' sisters lives in Daly City and I stayed almost a month, SF bay area is really great.
As soon I get my definitive part list I'll contact you. I'll be in NY city and Florida, my wife wants to visit these places this time.
