Hi
I have these two backplates i can use.

As you can see one has no middle when the other does. Which would be best to use with a D-Tek Fuzion on a P5K Deluxe

Many thanks

I'm using the one on the left, from a Scythe heatsink, on my Commando board, which is pretty similar to the P5K. It fits perfectly and doesn't touch any backside components. There are some small components on the back of the socket on the Commando which would have been pressed on if it wasn't for the center hole, which is one reason I used it. Also, it seems a bit stronger than the other choices I checked; the steel is pretty thick, and the arms are shorter and stiffer. I'd be afraid the arms on that other one would bend too much.

On mine, the screw holes were perfectly sized to let the Fuzion mounting bolts slide right through, but others have reported needing to drill them out a little (maybe slight differences depending on what model Scythe it came from?). I left the plastic film covering the adhesive for easier backplate removal later, and didn't use the Fuzion washer that normally goes on the back. The adhesive layer is kind of thick and squished a bit under pressure, so it took a lot of cranking to get all 4 mounting nuts fully cranked down to the spring limiters, but it's rock solid and shows no signs of board warping.
