ok i have a xeon 3220, evga A1 680i mobo and patriot memory 800mghz, when i over clock this thing its unstable and crashes or wont even boot into windows............ am i doing anything wrong... when i had a e6600 in here i oced the crap out of it and never had problems..dose this evga bord just suck for quads any help would be great, ive talked to a few people they say its the bord but i dont want to get a new bord and have to tear it all down just to put it in anyways.........

im pretty sure that its your board that is holding you back.. evga mobos are not that great with quad core chips.
i take that you have the newest bios it should have better ocing potential than the earlier ones ??
and what about your voltage settings, what are they ??

i tryed many diffent voltages i did 1.5 cpu and 1.3 fsb and yes i have the latest bios

alrite i backed off the timeings of my ram and got it to boot to windows at 3.6 i droped it back down to 3.2 and prim95ing it i do have this on water and my temps ate 72-74 c under full load sound about rite?

its a b3, i go tit to 3.6 booted into windows but it was unstable 3.4 was fine, after i played with settings in bios i was able to get that high, there is something called nvida EX for nvidia drivers and card well that has to be on or you will get lock ups in games which was the main problem i was having so now im at a happy 3.2ghz i would like 3.6 but i think my bord is holding me back, i have it at 8x400= 3.2 i would like it at 9x400 but its just to unstable, im going to play with it some more but if you have any words of advisements that would be great thx guys for you intrest in helping me!
