i have a e6750, p35 DS3L, 2 gigs of patriot eXtreme ddr2-800, sapphire x1950xt, 1 IDE optical, and 3 HDD's, and 1 case fan that works

im getting a failure when playing cod2, the screen will go into error adn there will be a really annoying noise, that will loop until system is rebooted

can this be

A) Under powering of GPU?(ive tried taking 2 500gb's out, and it still failed)
B)Over Heating of Gpu(hits 90 under load 60 idle)
C) Faulty Ram( will be running prime 95,orthos and mem test asap)

thanks! and whats the best psu, 550watts+ on ncix.com?

thanks soo much

Your PSU should be fine. If the problem appears only in COD2 I suspect the audio drivers. If it manifests itself in other games too (and you get the VPU Recover message), it's the video card. If you have instability in non-3D apps then it's probably the memory.

it sounds like drivers, i had that on an old computer 5-6 years ago it ended up being the agp bus drivers, so u may want to look at ur pci-e drivers

Did you fix it?

I'm having a similar issue if I OC a certain way (using 166 divider w/OC between 2.8 & 3.1). I can prime or superpi test it but COD2 starts to freeze then a sound starts buzzing/looping. After a few seconds, it completely locks up. I think it's PSU related for mine since my 2.65 OC has no issues).
